They all tend to blend a bit though don’t they?? This is my favourite genre of fiction and this was a good story. I am currently waiting for the second in the series to download. It’s not any new content or anything particularly great but it’s satisfying enough. The warning at the start sets anticipation pretty high and it just fails to live up to it. The author also takes a stab at DJ Moles in his intro but I found DJ’s book far better written and much more exciting.

Bit disappointed with this story. I really enjoyed The Book of the Unnamed Midwife but this 2nd book was just a puddle of anger and sexual frustration. I don’t think I’ll be rushing to read book 3.

Beautifully thought provoking.

Just love this book. Such a heartbreaking story of struggle and injustice. The narration was superb and extremely enjoyable to listen to. I can’t write too much more as I am so sad upon finishing this wonderful story. Definitely a must read for all.

I absolutely loved this story. It was so beautifully written and the narrator did such a wonderful job. I could not put it down. A joyous tale of acceptance and love. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed this book. The narration was superb and easy to listen to, and the story was just a delight. Although occasionally slow going, it was lovely to view this strange new world through such innocent but clever eyes. I initially thought it would be lovely to share with my 12yr old daughter but there was a bit of adult content towards the end so she will have to wait a while. I would absolutely recommend this story.

It’s was ok.

This book came highly recommended in a book review and I have to say, I wasn’t overly impressed. It was an ok little story, I stuck it out to the end, but I would be hard pressed to recommend it to anyone.

This story is so beautiful to read - a poetic masterpiece. I want to start it all over again. I am so moved, and so sad. To read a story which covers a whole lifetime, is to really see the fragility and fleeting nature of our lives. You cannot help but to be emotionally affected. I feel like I need a stiff drink.

There is so so much going on in this story. Way too much. Would have been a little easier to follow the written version. I would struggle to recommend this book to anyone and I don’t think I will be reading any further books in the series.

I enjoyed hearing Sandra’s story. What a colourful, interesting and at times heartbreaking life she has led. I found the story a bit hard to follow as an audio book. It seemed to jump around quite a bit and I was never really sure where we were at. Would have been much easier to read this book rather than listen to it. It was good, it just didn’t grip me and keep me ‘turning the pages’ as other books have.

I really enjoyed this book. The narration was truly next level. Each character was different and recognisable, you would swear 5 or 6 people narrated this. As with all Stephen King books - you are never really sure what you are getting and when you think you have the direction sussed, he takes you on a crazy twisting ride. I really recommend this book!
