This is the firs Virginia Woolf I've ever read/listened to and it was marvellous. As with all classics, n some ways it hasn't aged well, in other ways it has stood the test of time. Honestly though, any time you see the name Juliet Stevenson as the narrator you know you're in for a treat. Don't pick this narration if you like the narrator to use their natural voice the whole way through, pick it if you like them to differentiate voices for different characters to really bring their personality to life. She does it so well.

Taylor Jenkins Reid is so good at making you double take that the novel is fiction and not a memoir. I had to google it just to be sure. It almost made me sad because she so well describes the effect of the music that I really wanted to listen to it. I was also super glad that they chose a full cast for each character's voice. It makes it much clearer to know who is talking when, which is not always easy in audiobooks when there are several main characters. It also makes it much more immersive and fun imo This was a great audiobook to save for driving trips. The way each chapter is broken up by characters means that while it kept my attention and was thoroughly enjoyable, it also didn't get in the way of my day when I didn't have time to read.

So good! Would recommend to anyone!

This trilogy is so wonderful, I'd recommend it to almost anyone. Kept some mystery, there's adventure, fighting, the supernatural, romance and friendship. I honestly cant even explain how much I loved the series. I also really loved that the narrator did the accents and different voices, it really brought the story to life. My only complaint is that she spoke so slowly that I had to keep it at 1.75x or 2.0x to keep up with the pace of the book. So really, think of it at like a 7-9hr read

Honestly I'd be shocked if I found out they spent a very long time writing this and even more shocked if they had a writer go over it/help them because it comes across as pretty spur of the moment BUT that is also what makes it a good audiobook. If you are a fan of Megan Mullally and/or Nick Offerman and/or their romance, (which I'm assuming you are because why else would you be here?) then you will still really enjoy this because, well obviously, they are adorable together, they talk quite openly & honestly about their childhoods, how they fell in love etc and they do so in a very natural way that leaves you feeling more as though you've been invited to wine and d&m with your most charming and hilarious friends than as though they're reading pages of a book to a recording device. Basically, If you're here for a charming night in with Megan and Nick then purchase, if you're here for a solid read then move on.

Great story, brilliantly read!

I won't give any of the story away because honestly I wasn't that interested when I read the overview and I only chose it because it was recommended to me. I'm really glad I did though because it is such a brilliant format for an audiobook and so well acted! I especially loved that they chose 3 voice actors instead of one because not only does it make the recognition of who is speaking immediate but it makes the whole story feel so much more immersive! This book made me laugh, gave me flutters, kept me in suspense and also made me well up at times. 10 out of 10 would cry again <3
