Narrazione impeccabile, libro stupendo. Grazie per aver reso disponibile questo titolo su Amazon Australia. Worth learning Italian just to understand these words.

One of the less known novels of Murakami, "After dark" is an absolute gem of a read, an ode to the night and the weird people that live in it.

First of all the narration of this audiobook is amazing, one of the best I've heard on Audible.

Secondly there isn't much left to say about this classic, I would just add that this book is still surprisingly enjoyable and modern, espeiclaly the phylosofical intermissions, while the story can be a bit tedious and overdramatic at times. The last 2 books are an absolute masterpiece of storytelling.

So much has been said about this book and other than saying is beautifully interpreted in this audiobook I'll state what is not.

it's not too long
it's not too graphic
it's not so implausible

This is an amazing piece of literature, not an easy read, not for the writing, but for the topic, a deeply insightful window on the life of a surgeon and the topic of life and death.

The author managed to leave a testament of his caring nature, not through a sterile account of his own demise, but through a wonderful account of his life and how he found a meaning in the face of the unforeseeable.

This is not an easy read, but books so full of wise words are far and in between, a mandatory read to gain insight in the human condition and the contract of love.

I have no idea why other reviews hated the narration. Rupert Degas read heaps of Murakami books, all with great care and showmanship. Other than being an amazing book, it also benefit from a great performance.

This should be a compulsory read for every human being.

The account of his days in concentration camps is a pure recount of events, from the perspective of a human being as opposed to most literature on the subject that add a patina of impersonality. I felt his pain, but most of all I felt his hope and deep humanity.

I couldn't give a perfect score because the second part of this book is an academic dissertation on the subject of logo-therapy, that although interesting, felt a bit out of place.

Narration is great, clear and suited.

This is true gem of a book: dry English humor and a great cast of characters.

It's definitely a must read, although I personally found the end of the book felt rushed, with a forcefully increased pace, I wished this book would end the same way it started: with an intricate web of small and meaningful stories and anecdotes.

The narration is wonderful, although it felt a bit rushed, almost sped up. I listened to it at half speed and enjoyed it much more. The narrator is wonderful, with great intonation and different accents to accompany the characters' personalities, while always being clear.
