Very interesting historical account of Mr Musk focusing on anecdotes, interviews and company history as the primary source of information. You won't get any ideals or advice on how to be successful but rather a look at a man who took massive risks, worked really hard, and made tough decisions against all the odds to get closer to his life goals. Very inspiring and gives you hope for a greener and expansive future for humanity.

I had to stop after about 4 hours because I had enough. This fantasy is like a fan fiction piece written in one afternoon and I can't believe someone picked it up for publishing. There has been no research or thought into any element beyond made up words, races and fluff. For example, this book treats royalty, palaces and war meetings like a suburban family affair with no other consideration of other people, protocols, consequences or intrigue. This might be good if you're new to the fantasy genre or feel like something mindless, otherwise it's very difficult to recommend.

As per the title this was a pretty straight forward story following two protagonists together caught up in fighting a corporation. The writing is fluid and fortunately not as deep as books such as Neuromancer or Altered Carbon where each line was deep, metaphorical and critical to the story. In other words, you can lose concentration and not be punished for it in Hardwired. The narrator has a great smooth and chocolatey voice which is very enjoyable. Overall, you won't find any revelations about yourself or any deeper meanings here but it is a good bit of story in itself. I'd say this would be a great introduction to the cyberpunk genre before moving to the more complex and deeper stories it offers.

I'm a fan of the Blade Runner films but this source material is very throught provoking in a very different way. The book questions and teases you about the morality and empathy of humans, androids, electric animals and real animals in a vivid manner which is boosted by the absolutely stellar narration. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. Jon's style of writing is easy to digest and you could feel his empathy in his clear narration. Great interviews and anecdotes though I think the first half was much stronger with his coverage on Jonah Lehrer, Adria Richards and Justine Sacco. The other stories in the second half of this book seemed to lose focus though it picked up again when discussion meddling with the Google algorithm. It's interesting that this book speaks about "privilege" in 2015 whereas I was completely unaware of this obsession with the concept as I do not live within the USA. Definitely an interesting piece and it makes me feel very sad how dominant ideology is in our society today.

This is not a bad story though it rehashes 1/5th of one of the main entry books which I don't understand - you'll recognise it when you hear it. The voice acting for the main character Lift just seems like Shallan however with more awkward dialogue because its an adult not even trying to sound like a convincing teenager. Still this is worth reading if you enjoy the mainline series. Don't bother if you are listening to this as a standalone book.

This is a clear classic and very enjoyable particularly if you enjoy the Bond franchise. The voice performance was also good, though not as good as the prequel Forever and a Day. The only sour thing is the last 6 minutes where they interview the voice actor about the story, almost like a review which is very odd. The voice actor would have as much insight to the way the story was written as the audience so it was like hearing a review within the work itself and now I'm providing meta commentary review of a review. I would much more appreciate if the voice actor read a foreword or an interview of Ian Fleming which would have provided much more valuable insight and substance.

This is very much in the vein of the first book however it feels like two distinctly different stories were crammed into this book which was very jarring. The pacing at times was frustrating and I had to listen to a different book halfway through. The initial chapter cliffhanger is pointless because it takes so long to get to that point. However the last couple of hours do work as it all speeds up to the final resolution and I found these last few hours offered moments of happiness, bitterness and in between. I'm not sure I would recommend it.
