Although I persisted I lost interest in this audiobook very early.  Both the major characters are dull and somewhat two dimensional as are the minor character. The story meanders but doesn’t really go anywhere to the end when multiple twist occur. There are a lot of minor character and because the story dis boring and somewhat disjointed it can at time be hard to follow as I kept finding my mind going elsewhere. Disappointing!

This book just didn't live up to its potential. The main character was unbelievable, annoying and petulant and the ending quite cheesy. What saved the book from being an all out waste of time what the character of Eve, her story was both entertaining and intriguing.

Given read reviews I found this book to be disappointing. The plot was predictable which made the story boring. I felt little empathy for the characters and the narration was cringe worthy, if a narrator can't do a convincing male voice find someone who can!

Awful don’t waste your time or money!!

This is the worst audio book I have ever listened to; badly written the story is not engaging or original. The graphic description of the murder scenes are grotesque overdone as in the Mills and Boon romantic story that runs alongside it. I only finished listening to the book the hope that the writing and story would somehow resurrect its self, it didn’t!

Unfortunately because I love a good series I purchased the second book at the same time as the first, I’m not even going to waste my time listening.

The writing isn't bad unfortunately it's the plot that lets this novel down; meandering, bland and boring.

As I have not read anything of Jodi Picoult's since 'My Sister's Keeper', which I found both gripping and heart wrenching I was excited to start this audio book. Unfortunately I am not impressed and I am not sure that I will even bother finishing it.

At first I attributed my dislike the annoying voice over artist, particularly her grating reading of the daughter character. As I progressed I realised that the problem seeped far deeper that the voice artist but the characters themselves and the completely unbelievable storyline that too often drifts into a tale about numerous elephants.

I find science and behavioural patterns very interesting and love a good good documentary however Picoult's telling is a dream like and romanticised; the self indulgent writing fails to make me empathise or care about any of the animals or humans depicted.
