The retelling of the stories from different perspectives made I try a chilling narrative with a very satisfying conclusion. A bit racier than I prefer but a great story. I didn't like the party one performance as much as part two as I found the narrator's part robotic.

Perhaps not the most believable murder stories but a good read. Tragedy and humour mixed together.

Quinn has crafted a master tale bringing two women from different eras to merge their stories around a common enemy. The horrors and consequences of living through two world wars healed in the hunt for a cold hearted profiteer. Quinn’s gritty veteran matched a confused college student explore how those in our world sharpen our character. Loved listening. Now I want to read the book as well.

If you haven’t read Dahl then start here. One of his best works. A clever critique of society whilst being a wonderfully entertaining story.

I have always wanted to read this story but never had the time so I was delighted to be able to listen to it while driving around in. I laughed and cried at this tragic character.

This is not for everyone but I loved it. One of my favourite classics. It was lovely to revisit it as an audio text.

An unusual structure makes it an even more gripping tale as each thread draws together for the climax. Brilliantly constructed, beautifully performed. I would read it again.
