Story
In a strange world where she was continually on display, stardom soon became a personal nightmare of constant exposure and sexualisation. Rose escaped into the world of her mind, something she had done as a child, and into high-profile relationships. Every detail of her personal life became public, and the realities of an inherently sexist industry emerged with every script, role, public appearance, and magazine cover.

This book touched my soul
Reviewed: 09-05-2020
Rose's beautiful strong voice, even in moments when it shakes, is as haunting as her story. The honesty that naturally flows in her narration will touch the very core of your being. If you have daughters, or if you are at all involved in raising daughters, this is a must read. Or if you have sons, if you are involved in raising sons, then this is a must read. It is time to change the status quo. It is time to bring down that invisible wall that separates us from our humanity. It is time to recognise and be one with our divinity. Rose's book challenges the reader/listener to take steps, no matter how small, to change the way we see each other. I am deeply moved. One of the best books I've read/listened to in a long time.

Story
In 2017, a routine network television investigation led Ronan Farrow to a story only whispered about: one of Hollywood's most powerful producers was a predator, protected by fear, wealth, and a conspiracy of silence. As Farrow drew closer to the truth, shadowy operatives, from high-priced lawyers to elite war-hardened spies, mounted a secret campaign of intimidation, threatening his career, following his every move and weaponizing an account of abuse in his own family.

For decades, Demi Moore has been synonymous with celebrity. From iconic film roles to high-profile relationships, Moore has never been far from the spotlight - or the headlines. Even as Demi was becoming the highest paid actress in Hollywood, however, she was always outrunning her past, just one step ahead of the doubts and insecurities that defined her childhood.

Demi was a picture of success. Listening to her story you realise that behind the scenes she was struggling with the same real issues as the rest of the real world. I especially loved the learnings wrapped in her experiences. Her narration made it all the more real, raw, honest and awfully relatable. It was compelling. I could not stop listening. I highly recommend this book to every woman who has ever doubted herself.

I only had limited listening time, usually when I'm in the kitchen cooking and it was a challenge to have to stop and turn it off. I learned so much more from this audiobook than a lot of the self-help books I'vep read in the past. When Chelsea's voice quivers, I just lose it! This is the most revealing book she has done.

The compelling, inspiring (often comic) coming-of-age story of Trevor Noah, set during the twilight of apartheid and the tumultuous days of freedom that followed. One of the comedy world's brightest new voices, Trevor Noah is a light-footed but sharp-minded observer of the absurdities of politics, race and identity, sharing jokes and insights drawn from the wealth of experience acquired in his relatively young life.

I love this book so much I would listen to it again. Trevor Noah's voice brings life to the story. It feels like being there. His mother is awe-inspiring and the whole story is an eye opening insight to true life in South Africa, the kind of insight you don't get from stories shown in the media. I highly recommend this book.

Story
Becoming Magic is book one of a complete course in becoming creator of your own exceptional life. In this book, I outline the exact steps which enabled me to move my own life from one of poverty and drudgery, to one of previously unimaginable wealth, purpose and joy. But Magic? I do hope you are joking! That's what I would have said, five or ten years ago. I once despised all things 'New-Age'; all these spiritual types and their airy-fairy views, their bad science and their irrational beliefs.
