I confess I dropped off mid way through this book, but I mostly put that to personal crap. I came back to it near 5 months later and got utterly into it again, adamant to continue in with the rest of the series. Sanderson is royalty.

Sanderson just keeps killing it. There was never a dull moment in any of these past 3 Mistborn novels in this new era.

Bringing original Mistborn trilogy lore back into this future "present" piece was great. Fantastic utilisation of established story history. Another great ride with great characters and great performance.

The consistency in Sanderson's writing continues with this third book. He is an absolute talent for original world building, and keeping endings satisfying and surprising, which is not an easy task.

A lot of the theories in this book resonated with me in the end. They were very well presented with their examples and just struck home.

I had no idea who Monash was, which was ridiculous considering I spend a huge amount of time of my life driving on the infamously congested freeway in Victoria that he is named after. I can't believe my useless schooling education never taught me anything about any of Australia's involvement in any war. I've had to learn it all myself. This was a fantastic listen. Loved it.

The suffering that's narrated in this book is harrowing. It's an incredible story. I thought I was going in to hear about all these crazy forensic cleaning stories of criminal cases and dead people, but what I got instead was one of the most intimately human stores I've ever heard, still with some curious cleaning cases of very much alive people going through the worst of times.

Good narrator. Great listen. What an incredible and inspiring character. After listening to the accidents appendix, I can't believe he's still alive!
