Listening to this audio book was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The story was typically Georgette Heyer. Interesting and believable characters. Entertaining story-line. Characters well performed by Sian Phillips

No complaints about this old favourite. The story and performance were both excellent. If you are a Georgette Heyer fan, you should enjoy this audiobook.

Re-visiting this favourite from my youth was thoroughly enjoyable. Phyllida Nash did a great job of reading in my view.

Story great. Narration painful.

As usual, I enjoyed this old favourite Georgette Heyer story, but the reader unfortunately severely detracted from the experience. The heroine sounded childish and silly, and the male characters were not well read. Our hero sounded like a stuffy old man.

Reader better than expected

I have loved all of Georgette Heyer's books since my teenage years and have been re-enjoying them as audiobooks. I usually prefer a female reader, but in this instance, Clifford Norgate did a creditable job.
