Well written, enthralling and suspenseful. Not easy to guess who did it and the reveal after the end of 28 hours of listening is worth it. Recommended Not sure what the fuss is about the negative reviews. Cancel the cancel culture please

The content is good and fascinating but Michael Pollan needs to get a good editor. Over and over and over again the same things from multiple different people. It has more padding than the Michelin man. Listening on audible you could drift off for 20 mins and wouldn’t miss anything because he would still be going on about the same stuff. It is hard to get through. Less is more - said no one ever (to Michael Pollan at least)

Really, using examples of a bogus war for leadership lessons is as bad as it gets The examples are childish. Book is just heavy on military details with a significant amount of jargon If you know anything about leadership skip this one. 20 mins of useable text stream over 9 hours.

The author uses the phrase ultra learning far far too much. It’s difficult to listen. Didn’t enjoy it at all - got returned promptly.

What made the experience of listening to The Barefoot Investor the most enjoyable?

He made an extremely boring sounding subject enjoyable to listen. Also for someone who is pretty careful with money I was astounded to find out how lax I was with some of the most important things about my future well being

What did you like best about this story?

Practical advice, actionable and precise

Have you listened to any of Scott Pape’s other performances? How does this one compare?

first one only after hearing about it from a lot of different people

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes - of all the 20 odd titles I have listened to so far this book was the one which I actually wanted to keep listening and might do a relisten soon

Any additional comments?

Good work Scott - there is something for everyone no matter how successful or switched on you may think you are.
