If you drive past the lights of downtown Roswell, north on Route 285 into the darkness of the New Mexico desert, you'll run across a little radio station with a single tower. This is the home of WKLEN talk-radio, broadcast through Tower #57. Fresh out of the local community college and eager to start his career in radio production, Luther Stenson arrives for his first shift as an intern on Evening Sands, a late-night radio show focused on the unexplainable and broadcast throughout the lower forty-eight. Luther’s first night in radio quickly becomes one he’ll never forget.

Story
Growing up was tough for Daniel. When he was 11, his father showed up in his life, for the first time, with a gunshot wound to the stomach. He relocated his son, daughter and their mother 400 kilometres away from their loving grandparents and a coastal home to a shack with a dirt floor in outback Queensland. From then on, Daniel fought to maintain a sense of order and purpose amid the chaos of family violence and criminal activity. Inspired by his much-loved grandfather, a WWII veteran, Daniel joined the army.

A True Humble Hero
Reviewed: 30-12-2020
As with other books by VC recipients, Dan is a humble soldier who downplays the extraordinarily brave act he did in Afghanistan of putting his life in extreme danger to protect the lives of his fellow soldiers and Afghan soldiers and show it doesn't matter where you have come from, you alone have the ability to do something extraordinary.
Thankyou Dan for telling us not only your story of your VC but also your journey to and after your award.

A remarkable story of how one injury can change the direction of not only one Man, but helped shape The Australian Commando Regiment.
This a story told by his Family, his friends his Brothers in Arms and his his Superior Officers about a young man who is so focused and determined to be the best at everything he does.
He is an absolute Aussie Legend and Hero who clearly deserves the recognition he has had placed on him and there should be an Australian led Hollywood Blockbuster film made about his life and death.

In No Spin, Shane sets the record straight. From his extraordinary family history to his childhood as a budding Aussie Rules footballer in suburban Melbourne. From the legendary 'Gatting ball' to his history-making 700th Test wicket. From the controversy surrounding the diuretic pill in South Africa to his high-profile relationship with Hollywood star Elizabeth Hurley. Nothing is off limits, and Shane tackles it all with his trademark directness and humour.

Reviewed: 14-03-2019
I loved this book so much I'm going to get the hard copy and read it again. I think it would have been better with Warnie self narrating as a little verbal context was a bit off but I'd still give the reading 9 out of 10.
Sp much going on behind the scenes that you don't hear about.
10 out of 10, nice Shane.
