Worth the listen!!!!
There is intrigue, adventure, magic, cheeky rebellious unlikely heros, dragons lurk in the peripheral, promising more to come. The complex endearing characters are a delight to listen to, as they face challenges and adventures. My favorite is the main Character, and the Narrator does a great job bringing then all to life all in their own special way.

Not even the sudden appearance of ancient dragons in haunted Letum Wood nor her two best friends can distract her from the strength of her deep, dark rage. Her grief puts her magical powers into chaos, endangering any witch around her. She has six months left to destroy the curse that will kill her and fulfill her contract with the most cunning enemy of all: her former teacher Miss Mabel.

Kate builds and weaves more magic in each book, yet nothing seems over the top and impossible. It is seamlessly written and narrated so that this world and its characters feel so real as if Kate has plucked them from history. Start from the beginning, get book 1 and venture into a world of myth and legend made real... then you will have to listen or read or both, all 6 books in their entirety.

This series sits as well now in 2020 as when it was first published. It has not aged as many do in the fantasy genre. Kate has crafted this magical, beautiful, brutal world with so much depth giving Elle Newlands a flawless book where she has breathed, sang and given form to the characters and story... it's well worth ride
