Story
In the wake of a devastating attack, an amnesty has been declared for all Augurs - finally allowing them to emerge from hiding and openly oppose the dark forces massing against the land of Andarra. As the Augur Davian and his new allies hurry north toward the ever-weakening Boundary, however, fresh horrors along their path suggest that their reprieve may have come far too late. His ally in the Capital, the new Northwarden, contends with assassins and politicians and uncovers a dangerous political secret.

It' takes me to a place..
where choices matter, where awareness of our influencers matter. where making decisions is based on what we, each, in our own self decide we can define in general terms as either good/bad, principled and tolerant, or selfish and evil, for the greater good or all good for the greatest.
It's a look at owning our place, for better or for worse. And it leaves that much wanted, and idealised concept of, in truth never knowing who we may truly be until our days are done. because, who I was yesterday, learning what i was , is not who I want to be, it's u po to me, to choose a new direction. we really are that free.
It's ok to have a change of heart and switch sides. to aim for different values than you at first aimed for.
It's called growth.
as well, it makes a one more powerful with a collective behind them. it illustrates, good deeds, can hurt deeply and require great personal sacrifice.
it does not pretend that all will understand a heart that's changed.
it asks us to value friendship, to be discerning about what is and isn't truth, to try to understand others motives.
it shows, that actions we may condemn, are ones we secretly champion when the benefit aids our own cause.
it shows human fault. And human tenderness and pain. it seeks to hold ourselves accountable, and to not shy aw way from talking about the challenges on your path. friendship. loyalty and betrayal.
I wish that I could step outside of time!
bring on the Next, so I can delve deep into a rounded healthy concept of what does and doesn't matter.
I feel a happy ending.
but one human enough and real enough to know that all happiness has as companion it's quieter friend of sorrow.
balanced as the patterns on butterflies wings, should we be willing to go into our depths and truly decode what we are, we can emerge fron a coccoon where we chose self an a lysos, introspection, we can take our self apart and make ourselves completely new again. we can chsnge oyr face. a death of one self a birth of another. and in so doing, we become balanced beautiful beings that can fly!

Story
Everyone loves Mathias. Naturally, when he discovers it’s his destiny to save the world, he dives in headfirst, pulling his best friend, Aaslo, along for the ride. However, saving the world isn’t as easy, or exciting, as it sounds in the stories. The going gets rough, and folks start to believe their best chance for survival is to surrender to the forces of evil, which isn’t how the prophecy goes. At all. As the list of allies grows thin and the friends find themselves staring death in the face, they must decide how to become the heroes they were destined to be.

looking forward to more of this story.
characters were introduced steadily, relationships formed understood and the plot grew steadily. momentum built, and the depth of intrigue plunged and had me not wanting to miss a thing.
of course, getting to the end of this book, with so much yet to be told, is hard.
So I hope Kel Kade is publishing the next book already.

The characters stories, reveal the complexities of being human, as experienced and understood from an objective, gentle, personalised, 'safe space' as can be found in a therapists room.
Self reflective opportunities are abundant.
The book reads well, it covers a range of concerns, and though our 'concerns with ourselves' are worthy of deep consideration, this is approached in a light way.
tho book serves as both an introduction to what therapy is and how it should look, feel and progress, but is also a beautifully expressed volume that catalogues the writers personal journey, through her own heartache as she endeavours to be both the best therapist she can be, and find, in the therapy sessions she has sought for herself, a way to move forwards in her own life.

I've listened to all books leading to this one, and the voices and intimations are so vastly different it's hard to hear.
I can't even see the same characters in my mind.
sigh.. it's hurting. but I'm going to try, this 2nd time, to let it go so I can hear the story.
but, it's disapointing.
The performance is letting me down.
I suspect the reader didn't listen to the previous stories..

I couldn't wait to pick this book up, h saving finished book 2, and didn't have to, as I started the series after these first 3 were written. The characters are interesting, and the writing style keeps the story unfolding at pace that allows the scenery, expressions and climate to absorb the senses. My only sorrow now, is that it seems there is more of this series to come, and as yet the next book is not available.
I would like to get a notification once new books are added to any series I've started. This would be an awesome feature for the Audible app!

Hopeless and desolate, they turn to a legend of the tower, the mysterious Sphinx. But help from the sphinx doesn't come cheaply and, as Senlin knows, debts aren't always what they seem in the Tower of Babel.

I do hope Kel Kade is attempting to write at a speed on par with my desire for more of this story! This plot has me enthralled!
The reading performance is clipped, sharp, precise and distinguishes characters one from the other in believable pitch, accent, mood, & situation changes.. though, here and there, I felt he confused some characters voices, one for another. As though forgetting the characters assigned voice pattern.. For only a brief period did this confuse my mind, and the changes did not continue for too long before once again resembling the voices I'd attached to differing characters. Impressive reading! such energy and commitment to the story makes the books reading very easily give way to the world described by Kel Kades words. Absorbing!
