Wow! Whoever chose Melissa Schwairy to narrate this job deserves a gold star. And Melissa Schwairy herself? Someone give her a pay rise. She is an EXCELLENT narrator. Her vocal expression is absolutely fantastic and her narration really fits the character of Emelle, the female MC of Signs of Cupidity. This story is lighthearted and such a fun read and Melissa does such a fantastic job conveying that in her narration. She really brings Emelle to life. Would recommend this story if you’re after a light read and need some laughter. I’ll definitely be checking out other works by Melissa Schwairy!

I loved this book by L.H Cosway but was horrified at Donna Kelly’s narration of it. Firstly, the sound quality of the audio is not good and you can frequently hear the sound of a desk chair croaking and the sound of a mouse clicking or paper rummaging. These things were initially distracting but I tried my best to ignore them and go on. I have 73 audiobooks in my Audible library and this is the first time I’ve come across audio quality this low. Quality aside, Donna Kelly’s narration and vocal expression was NOT good. I noticed that she had two or three ways to read a sentence and the whole ten hours was essentially a mix up of these three ways. This got real boring, real quick. One of my biggest issues though was the narrator’s inability to heed to and alter her narration to the emotions and the clear descriptions on the story. For example, if a character whispers something or says something in a hushed voice (as indicates in the text), the narrator would say this line in her normal, slightly abrasive tone. If a character was in the middle of a conversation whilst crying or visibly upset, this emotion was not reflected in her narration. Furthermore, the narration did not reflect the tension in the story. All parts of the book were narrated in the same tone, even when something big, exciting, tense or suspenseful was happening. Overall, L.H Cosway wrote a brilliant book that was very poorly communicated by Donna Kelly. I will be steering clear of other titles narrated by this author. I will, however, be checking out more books by L.H Cosway.

The only reason I finished this book was because I paid for the audiobook and didn’t want it to go to waste. I almost cried tears of joy when it was over... because it was over. There was little to no character depth or development throughout the story and the characters were hard to empathise with and get behind. Josie was a weak and unlikeable protagonist and Tristan felt more like a kid than a 22 year old man...
