I didn't go for the supernatural component and found the story so implausible that I lost interest.
I also found the conversations incomprehensible at times.
Will Patton is as good as ever though.

Another Great Adrian McKinty Novel

If you could sum up Dead I Well May Be in three words, what would they be?

Very well written.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dead I Well May Be?

The whole book is memorable. I don't really focus on any particular part of the book.

What does Gerard Doyle bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Northern Irish accent and emotion that is appropriate to the story.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I'm not one for tag lines.

Any additional comments?

I like Adrian McKinty's cynical humour, which lifts his novels above the level of other crime novels.

Not bad, but suspend your critical faculties

Would you try another book written by Mark Greaney or narrated by Jay Snyder?

Maybe. I listened through to the end, but to say the last few chapters were implausible would be putting it very mildly.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Most interesting - plenty of excitement.Least interesting - unnecessary technical detail about every hardware item.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Liked - Good reading pace, some differentiation of main characters' voices.
Disliked - Odd pronunciation of some sounds - "caught" is pronounced as "cot".

Was Back Blast worth the listening time?

Worth a listen if you like assassin type stories.

Intricate story, but predictable outcome

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Not really. As others have said, the main characters are too saintly and the lengthy, explicit and gratuitous sex scene is actually very boring. The important good characters are all beautiful and (spoiler alert).............
predictably bulletproof.
Having said that, I listened to the whole book to find out how it resolved.

Would you recommend Alone in the Dark to your friends? Why or why not?

What is the difference between this question and the previous one (other than friend/friends)?

Did Susie James do a good job differentiating each of the characters? How?

To a point. I generally find women lowering their pitch to simulate a male voice rather odd sounding. Other than that, I enjoyed her performance.

If this book were a film would you go see it?

Not now that I have read the book and know the outcome.

Any additional comments?

I think it's unlikely I'll buy any more Karen Rose books. The two I have had certainly weren't terrible, but, based on those two, she seems to work to a formula, which, for me, has run its course.

Pretty hard to swallow

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Not really. The plot is so implausible and the explanations of the characters' behaviour so simplistic that I felt I was never able to get involved in the book.

Would you ever listen to anything by Dan Brown again?

No, I don't think so. Apart from the silly plot, some of the writing is clumsy and amateurish ( eg "he jumped on a laptop" meaning "he began using a laptop"). I

What aspect of Paul Michael’s performance might you have changed?

The narration is ok, given the quality of the material.

Do you think Inferno needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No. The story is complete.
