Thank you Heather for writing this story. Thank you for the narrative of Cilka’s life and thank you for the hours of research that went into investigating what truly went on in those terrible camps.

This narrative is captivating and insightful. I couldn’t put it down and found my mind wandering back to Cilka’s story whenever it could.

I loved this book! The world of hypnotherapy was an interesting topic to be exploring alongside a romance and life complications. I’m now fascinated and want to explore this more deeply.

One note though, could someone please tell the narrator that ‘car-ton’ is not how we Australians pronounce ‘carton’ in ‘carton of milk’ etc, it’s ‘car-ten’. Drives me crazy every time she says it!

I couldn’t stop listening! I found myself looking for pockets of time during the day when I could listen to just a bit more. Wonderful to finally have the sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale and everything I could have wanted.

I wasn’t sure if it was the right choice for me but Audible just kept suggesting I would like it and as usual Audible was right.

Difficult to listen to at times this book was also thoughtful, true to its era and even romantic. It’s a beautiful story about the tragedy of the Nazis but also the healing power of humanity. I couldn’t put it down.

I found this book captivating! I had loved other books by Liane Moriarty and was hesitant about choosing this one because some people had really dished it. But it was great! At times unlikely, at times a bit slow but mostly it just kept me on my toes. I fell for all of the characters and really enjoyed some of the cheeky author tricks towards the end (#nospoilers). Definitely choose this book, ignore the critics and settle in!

After a bit of a slow start the story begins to piece together, slowly the puzzle unravels and you begin to make links and question what you know about the characters. It’s so very clever, I couldn’t stop listening!
