Tim Scott was born in New York City in 1948. He attended the University of Vermont (1971 BA, English), and took a motorcycle ride through Europe while waiting for the draft, which is the subject of his first novel. He earned an MA from Northeastern University (1976, English) and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management in 1983. He pursued a corporate career for 20 years before moving to the public sector as an analyst for the US Dept. of Labor for 8 years. Retiring in 2018, he began a writing career. 'Driving Toward Destiny' is his first novel. The book was a Finalist in the 2023 National Indie Excellence Awards, the 2023 Readers' Favorite International Book Awards, and the 2023 American Fiction Awards in the Fiction - Adventure genre. For his writing achievements, in January 2024 he was listed in Who's Who in America. His second book, 'Destiny Uncharted' was published in March 2024.
