Although a long time fan of James Bond, the author regards these films as a bit too far away from reality, particularly in terms of the technical toys used by the agent. And with the German TV crime series "Tatort" ("Crime Scene") the author is bothered for some time that their protagonists are only from the ranks of the criminal investigation teams, not as in the past, when they have been choosen from the regular police, the customs investigation and even the German Armed Forces Military Counterintelligence Service Agency. "Moreover, these TV crime stories are basically anything else than the so-called "regional crime novels", and of which there are in the meantime really as many as a penny!", says the author, who wanted to create with his own main character and his international arenas a deliberately contrary - and for the same reason the exciting adventures are sometimes told from first-person perspective. The second area, the author is addicted to, are single events or persons in military history. It's not his thing to describe the big picture as a whole, because many others have done this already before, but to inform about very specific and perhaps single events or persons that haven't been worked up yet. The author is an addicted self-driver, too, no matter whether with car, motorcycle or truck and isn't very happy with autonomous driving. His final topic is everything around football, as the author started playing even before his 10th birthday and makes his job there till today as goalkeeper. His first espionage thriller "Geheimnisvolles schwarzes Gold" (also available in English as "Mysterious Black Gold") was published in 1999 and its re-edited English and German versions followed in 2014. In 2011 his second espionage thriller "Neujahr" was published, followed in 2014 by the third one, "Sturm Schatten" and in 2015 by the forth "Beth Nahrin". 2016 started with the fifth espionage thriller "GENESIS", immediatley followed by the military thriller "40" which is something like "Martin Mahle begins", as this one stands for the chronological start into the whole series. In 2012 his military factbook "The Lonesome Commander" ("Der allein gelassene Kommandeur") researched into the sole British staff officer, a brigadier, who participated actively in the 1982 Falklands War, without being honored afterwards. This book is available in English and German and in both languages as printed version as well as eBook. Shortly after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, his factbook "Fussball ist Zufall!" ("Football is Coincidence!") was published (print + eBook). The author is an active soccer player (goal keeper) since nearly five decades! In 2016 and 2017 he added the vehicle factbooks ""Diamond T TEXACO Tanker Doodlebug" and "Mercedes-Benz CLR" to his author's biography, as well as the book "Das Phantom - Die Bodensee-Autobahn A98", a story about a controversial highway in Germany that should lead through a beautiful landscape but which was never built. In 2019 he added his traffic factbook "Schnee in der Stadt" ("Snow in the City") to the list. The author was born on the island of Lindau in the Lake of Constance in Germany and completed his post-school apprenticeship as a banker and the part-time studies as banking economist successfully. From the start of his business career on, he was working for a reputable European banking group in Lindau, Regensburg, Günzburg and Munich. Since many years now, he's working for the said bank as a relationship manager for large corporate customers in Augsburg and lives, together with his wife and children, in the nearby town of Neusäss. During the period of his mandatory service in the German Army's 1st Mountain Division, the Bundeswehr's Medal of Honor was awarded to him in late 1988. As far as known, he never worked for an intelligence service.
