This was a breath of fresh air. I loved that Brad had a softer side when it came to Sonia. To see such a strong male character brought to his knees by his love for her was good to see. I would definitely recommend this book, great read.
This was such a fun read! Sonia is an assistant to a very attractive but very demanding millionaire CEO. But circumstances present an interesting opportunity and a deal is struck between the two. And that’s when things get really interesting. Brad seems like the typical millionaire CEO: Good looking, suave and resistible. He does get bored easily with his women. However there seems to be more to him than first thought. Yes he is flirty and loves hearing how good looking he is but he can be sweet and even swoon worthy.
The interactions between Sonia and Brad are hilarious. Sonia gives as good as she gets with Brad. She is an adorable bookish nerd but I think she doesn’t realise how pretty and smart she is and downplays herself. Drunk Sonia was certainly a lot of fun! After spending more time together outside the office, both characters change and their dynamic shifts.
There were some amazing characters here: adorable ones like Mary, stubborn ones like Mason and young but wise ones like Sarah. I love especially loved Ava, Sonia’s friend. She was a riot who was funny and chatty: *She sighed overly loud. “Tall, dark, and oh-so fine. Give my love to your BILF.” Boss I’d Like to-yeah, right. How about Boss I’d Like to Kill? “I’ll tell the BILK you said hello. Bye.”*
The story was a humorous romantic story but it was more than that. It’s about family ties and deeper connections. It’s about realising your worth and that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. There’s always more than meets the eye and sometimes the thing we are looking for is found right in front of us.
Boss I love to Hate was an effortless read. The story pace was perfect, the character development thorough and the dialogue is both realistic and humorous. However, the build of the romantic relationship in Boss I Love to Hate is what makes it a great read.
Sonia is a kick arse heroine. She isn't impressed by her boss Brad. His good looks and his money don't hide the fact that he is a self-centred arse. She does her job well and has zero feelings towards her hunky boss of two years. Her friend calls him BILF; an acronym taken from the popular MILF. Sonia calls him, not to his face, of course, BILK. I'm sure you can guess what the K stands for!
I enjoyed the dual perspectives of Boss. It allowed the reader to see the character development of both Sonia and Brad intimately. This was especially important for Brad's character, as his self-enlightenment was astounding.
I feel that this novel could be a part of a connected series of standalone novels. Both of Brad's brothers have interesting stories that I would love to read.
I really enjoyed my first book by Mia Kayla. I love to read office romance stories, especially if at the start one character hates the other. Brad was such a great character to read. He was super cocky at times, but this just made him all the more endearing when he fell hard for Sonia. What I liked most was that she had been right in front of him for two years, yet he had never really seen her. That was until she asked him to be her pretend boyfriend and date to one of her friends weddings. I have always said that I love it when an alpha male falls hard and fast, and this is certainly the case for Brad. He was a bit dumbfounded by it all, but he never shied away from these new feelings. Also I loved how Brad's nieces were written in to the story. I thought that they were written realistically and helped Sonia and Brad get together. Would love to read more from Mia in the future. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book
Seriously?! This book has been popping up on my suggested reads for a while. I'd look at it and go 'meh - office romance? No thanks'. Thankfully, a day ago I got over that and downloaded. So glad I did! This is the best romance I have read in a long time! Without giving too much away, Sonia and Brad are complete opposites ... But you know what they say - opposites attract! I loved how they went from a tenuous at best relationship to falling in love. Especially Brad falling in love - he was a total sweetheart underneath and I loved the way he cared for Sonia. I highly recommend this book!
I liked this story it was light and fluffy. An easy and enjoyable read.
I liked how fiery Sonia is, she wasn't the typical swooning-over-the-hot-rich-boss type of girl which was a welcome break from what I have been reading lately. Also Brad was likeable, not too annoying.
All in all great read. I liked Masons type A character so I will definitely make sure I read the next installment.
