Vivian is a cultural specialist on the United Earth fleet ship Gorison Traveler. It’s the perfect job for someone who wants to learn everything about aliens. The only problem? The commander won’t let her anywhere near the visiting Ke’ters aboard the ship. He’ll board the Gorison Traveler with his crewmates, and fight the Ke’ters, but the longer he spends on the huge Earth vessel, the greater a distraction Vivian becomes. Brassi will do whatever it takes to save her…and to discover if Vivian’s his mate.

Normally I don’t factor in the voice actor but she was pretty bad. The story had the usual Laurann Dohner imaginative awesomeness but the connection between the two main characters seemed to be missing the parts that make emotional connection believable. Spicy and some humour.

The narrator torpedoed this book. She has the emotional range of Siri. I made it almost 1/2 way before chucking it, as I was both bored and depressed. So far, it has all been grim and flat. Maybe with a different narrator it might have been grim and exciting?
