About this listen

Deanna Madden, aka Jessica Reilly, hasn't touched another person in three years. She hasn't left her apartment. She makes money from performing to webcams on a sex site, where her clients pay $6.99 a minute for her time. She's doing all right. The dollars are piling up in the bank. She's the number-three model on cams.com. And she hasn't killed anyone for years.

But when Deanna sees on the news that a little girl called Annie has gone missing, the story rattles her carefully ordered world. It's uncomfortably similar to the dark fantasy of one of her most disturbing online clients. She's convinced he's responsible for the girl's abduction - but no one will listen to her. So, after three years, Deanna finally leaves the apartment. And this is what happens....

I'm glad I found this author. An unexpected gem. Talent, perversion, and an entertaining writer. An original story that tells it how it is. The shadows of humankind illuminated by camgirl lights.
Narration is perfect, great voice artist.
I will read everything this author writes. She's what I've been waiting for.

Biting, smart, fun and dark

If you could sum up The Girl in 6E in three words, what would they be?

1. Sex
2. Thrilling
3. Mysterious

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Girl in 6E?

when Jared burst into Deanna's apartment. that was an unforgettable first encounter.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

the part where Deanna had to put her urges aside to save Annie.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

the book did not made me cry. it was surely an interesting story, it made me smile.
but instead of a reaction, it made me think. evaluate Deanna.

I think that Deanna is perhaps over thinking her urges. I just think she had one really messed-up day with her mother that made her the way she is.

One thing is for sure, she may have her urges but she is just thinking too much.

Any additional comments?

To anyone who isn't sure about listening to this book. All I can say is it was worth listening to, the story is different. Unexpected. It is slow, it makes me want to skip to the juicy part but i hang in there, and I am glad i did not skip.

Interesting Story

For some reason I never thought "erotic thriller" could be a genre, and definitely didn't think it would be a decent one! But I was pleasantly surprised to find it could be an amazing combo in the form of this book. The characters were great and there was more to the plot than I expected. Definitely want to read the next one!

Exciting in many ways!!

This is the first book I have read by the author, and the first book in the series. An erotic thriller with lots of graphic descriptions of sex and violence. I found it compelling and hard to put down. A blend of intense, kinky, disturbed and tender. Though I didn't personally relate to any of the characters, I did find them likeable and I was emotionally involved in the plot.

Intense

Loved everything about this book. Short chapters, interesting content, diverse characters. Finished listening to the book within 11 hours of pressing play.

Couldn't stop listening!

Could not stop listening. So many twists and turns, so many possibilities. Tugged at my heart strings and made me cry both for Annie and the main character. I was able to absorb myself into the story and was not distracted by only one person narrating. Topic could be a trigger for some but the topic added to the story's edginess. Overall I found it a great read.

Excellent!

This was my first fiction listen and I loved it!

It did not meet all of my expectations but I enjoyed it soo much that I don't care.

Going into this book, I expected (and hoped for) more thrill. Being labelled as '50 shades meets Dexter' I thought it would be more erotic and more gruesome. One thing I did NOT want to read about/listen to is a story with a pedophile. That is not where I wanted the story to go but it did and overall, I don't mind. The story provokes many emotions in it's short character based chapters. It builds gradually to begin with and then about halfway through, it suddenly digs deeper into the guts of the story.

My favorite part of the book was when Jeremy entered Deanna's appartment and there's a hot steamy battle over his box cutters.
Deanna is a bit of a pussy cat really. Not the Dexter type character I was expecting.

I wanted all soo badly for the climax of a kill or for Deanna and Jeremy to surrender to their sexual desires. But instead this story kept me wanting more.. yes, you got me! The next 2 books are in my library, just waiting to be heard. I can't wait to listen to the next 'chapter' of Deanna's life 😁

The narration was fantastic and not at all off putting. I didn't even mind the voice manipulation for the other characters, including little Annie. It was all very well fitting and expressed the feeling of the story very well. A narrator can really make or break a book. Perfect performance 👏 Thank you.

And just like that.. my first fiction listen and my first book review has come to completion.

Get the book. You won't regret it!

An amazing listen! Hooked this 'nervous'

Pretty interesting listen with a good story line. Pretty straight forward.
But so happy to have found a female narrator that doesn’t make me want to scream

Finally a decent female narrator

Not what I thought it would be, lots of twists and turns when listening to it. I would say you need to pay attention to the characters names as it does jump back and forth between characters especially the male characters try and remember who they are. I would definitely recommend to everyone.

lots of twists and turns
