About this listen

A FRESH START. A RING OF POWER. A HAREM OF BEAUTIFUL WOMEN AT MY SIDE.

When I was young, a powerful mage killed my family, and I had no way to stop him. But at fifty, having lived a safe but miserable life, I find a way to start over. To be reincarnated into my younger self's body.

And to take my revenge.

Using a unique training style, I will:

Learn to cultivate my Ki and use it to fight. Level up my skills and keep them secret. Kill the men who ruined my life.

And I'll have a little fun along the way.

Contains mature themes.

Caveat that this sort of book is evidently written for straight men. I'm not that. So that's probably part of why I didn't like this much. For example the fight scenes felt like being stuck in a conversation with an exuberant eight year old boy. Most of the book I felt like MC was an arrogant idiot. By the end I amended that to too stupid to live. I did enjoy the combo of shogun Japan (albeit horrendously inaccurate) and magic, which is why I bothered finishing. (Also seriously author, names with L sounds in Japan? nope. arg).

Japanese based story. I did like it, but it has no follow up books yet, which is disappointing.

Storyline was good as was the performance.
