About this listen

The king of wall street is brought to his knees by an ambitious bombshell.

At work, I’m King of Wall Street. The heaviest hitters in Manhattan come to me to make money. They do whatever I say because I’m always right. I’m shrewd. Exacting. Some say ruthless.

At home, I’m a single dad trying to keep his fourteen-year-old daughter a kid for as long as possible. If my daughter does what I say, somewhere there’s a snowball surviving in hell. And nothing I say is ever right.

When Harper Jayne starts as a junior researcher at my firm, the barriers between my worlds begin to dissolve. She’s the most infuriating woman I’ve ever worked with.

I don’t like the way she bends over the photocopier—it makes my mouth water.

I hate the way she’s so eager to do a good job—it makes my body twitch.

And I can’t stand the way she wears her hair up exposing her long neck. It makes me want to strip her naked, bend her over my desk and trail my tongue all over her body.

If my two worlds are going to collide, Harper Jayne will have to learn that I don't just rule the boardroom. I’m in charge of the bedroom, too.

The King of Wall Street is a standalone contemporary romance.

This was the first book by Louise Bay that I've read and I absolutely loved it!

I absolutely loved the hero in this book, Max King. He's hard as nails when he's at work but when he's at home he's a devoted and loving father.

Harper, has just gotten her dream job working for King and Associates as a researcher and she cannot stand her boss! She thinks he's a jerk (to put it politely) and just wants someone to acknowledge the hard work that she has been putting in. When Harper moves in to her new apartment in Manhattan, her upstairs neighbour puts on a show for her and her best friend Grace.

What she doesn't expect to find when she goes to knock on his door the following night is that her upstairs neighbour is her boss!

The relationship that develops between the two of them is gorgeous! I loved how Max's attitude towards Harper slowly softens throughout the book. The plot line was fantastic with a couple twists in there that keep you intrigued all the way through.

I can't wait to dive into the next book!

Loved this so much!

it's my 1st Louise bay novel and I felt it was a tad slow...almost eeking the storyline out. I got a little frustrated with the heroines huge chip on her shoulder and I wanted to get her friend Grace to give her a serve.
the hero caved a little quicker due to the huge build up and the narration...well what can I say.....these 2 are perfect..love sebastians rasp and andi's inflections.

nice easy read

I enjoyed Max and Harper. They weren't cheesy or cliche.
Harper has Daddy issues, a lot of them. So she goes to work at a place that her father isn't affiliated with, although she doesn't consciously make this choice. She's been low key obsessed with Max King all through business school, so she’s excited to actually be working for him.
Max is too busy for dating and relationships. But when he spots Harper in the office he hungers for her from the word go.
When these two hit it off, sparks fly and they ignite. My only dislike is that Harper gave her father too much credit when he apologised. The man was a coward and selfish, he should've made the effort years ago. Anyway....
This is a good story with great narrators and I enjoyed it.

Low angst with lots of spice!

An awesome romance filled with love, understanding and redemption. I loved listening to this audiobook with its amazing storyline and narration. This had the typical alpha male in it but one who understands the importance of family, as well as a strong independent female protagonist who refused to live anyone's life but her own. If you have read the blurb to this book and think you will like it, I would definitely recommend you this book, as both a normal read, or as an audiobook. I know I enjoyed listening to this and hope you do too. Enjoy!
