About this listen
“Don’t...bleed for me.” (The Unknown)
Saying "don’t" around Jack Harrison always did lead him into dangerous grounds on London streets. But now someone knows Jack’s head inside and out, and they’re about to twist all perception and lead him into an underground depravity that nearly sent him down in his youth. As Jack slips further into a dark psychological minefield, only two men offer different paths back to sanity: Gray, a man who knows Jack’s every dark thought, and Jan, the first man to show Jack a “soft lad” approach to head and heart. But with deadly games and ghosts bleeding through into Jack’s reality, it’s a fight to see who out of the three of them will survive long enough to find a way out of the vicious game played by someone known only as...the Unknown.

Thirteen hours of audio covered events that took place over seven, eight, or maybe fourteen days. The plot’s muddled nature made it impossible to tell. I hated one character so much I could taste it and the other two protagonists were just dopey. There were so many tangled plot lines and others that remained unresolved. The baddie turns up late in the book, all evil and nasty, then bingle bangle, he and his henchmen are neutralised, just like that. Yawn.
I’ve never read erotic scenes that were so wooden (pun intended) and unexciting. I know writing an erotic scene is difficult, but these weren’t even trying. The dialogue, oh, the dialogue! In the middle of a conversation, back and forth, the author dropped in **** said. If character A is talking and character B responds, then we don’t need to be told that character A said the next line but the author dropped it in so often it made my teeth ache, and I wanted to slap whoever should have edited this book properly.
An hour or so in, I thought these two are so badly suited to the situation, why didn’t they just walk away and do us all a favour! And what’s with the coffee! They drank nine hundred and thirty-two cups of coffee at a rough count.
Maybe the muddled plot and story holes will be resolved in the sequels but I can assure you I won’t be wasting any credits on them to find out.
Bilge!
