 Manchmal gibt es Zusatzleistungen bei einer Arbeit, die man oft nicht erwartet. Wie vor Kurzem, als Alicias Mama mich fragte, ob ich ihre Küche am Wochenende für drei Dollar die Stunde oder für insgesamt 25 Dollar ausmalen könnte, was alles in allem weniger war. Ich dachte, dass es eine nette Abwechslung sein würde, Alicia während der Arbeit zu beobachten, weit abwechslungsreicher als Gartenarbeit für die alte Frau Bach zu machen. Tatsächlich aber war es das Geld, weswegen ich die Arbeit annahm. Ich kannte Alicia natürlich von der Schule. Man konnte sie einfach nicht übersehen. Sie war noch in der Oberschule und darum sah ich sie nicht oft. Nur ab und zu ein Blick in der Halle. Aber dieser Anblick genügte für den ganzen Tag. Niemals hätte ich geglaubt, auf welche Weise sie mir bei der Arbeit zur Hand gehen würde...
