About this listen

The world will burn in the final installment of Scarlett St. Clair's bestselling Hades X Persephone saga.

The gods are at war, the Titans have been released, and Hades and Persephone must fight tooth and nail for their happy ending.

Persephone, Goddess of Spring, never guessed that a chance encounter with Hades, God of the Underworld, would change her life forever—but he did. Now embroiled in a fight for humanity and battles between the gods, Persephone and Hades have entered a world they never thought they would see. To end the chaos, Persephone must draw upon her darkness and embrace who she's become—goddess, wife, queen of the Underworld.

Once, Persephone made bargains to save those she loves. Now, she will go to war for them.

Contains mature themes.

Wow compared to the previous three this one was a bit of a flop for me. I had to keep going back as I was zoning out. The new male voice was terrible and felt very wrong to change on the 4th book. Also why did Meg suddenly saying Hadeses instead of just Hades. The first three were great, I could have lived without this one

You’ll be a little lost if you haven’t listened to the Hades series, they aren’t just his version of her books, there was heaps going on when he wasn’t with Persephone that is referenced in this book. Hera’s trials, the ophiotaurus, Dionysus and Ariadne as a few examples.
I especially love the banter between Hades, Hermes and Hecate that you don’t really see in the Persephone series.
Not the biggest fan of the male narrator’s voice, but you get used to it. I would have liked if they also showed Ariadne’s perspective.

Brought both series together

Truely hope this isn’t the last book in the series! I am obsessed!
I do like the combination of the two narrator to bring together this series with the Hades series

I don’t want it to be over

The story could have been epic, there had been a 2 book built up for the great final fight. And for it to end in 1 page and yet another sex scene just made you feel like you might as well not read the book at all. Overall the series lacked depth. Characters like Hermes gave the book some personality but it mostly stayed flat, Persephone fighting the same insecurities all book long and all, but well and truly all males in de book come across as simpletons that only follow their penis. (And I thought it was meant to be fiction, lol)
In saying this I did read all 4 books and if you skip most sex scenes it it is a decent read that does not require much brainpower

What a shame

as all other work by this author, I loved the story. Less sex scenes and more story would've been preferable but no complaints still as the st8still captures the reader. However Meg Sylvan suddenly decided to incorrectly pronounce any word ending in S that had apostrophes. Hades' became Hadeses, Theseus' becane Theseueses etc. it was distracting and annoying. when Taylor narrated he pronounced them correctly. Why would a book be allowed to be produced this way, I don’t know.

Meg Sylvan ruined this long awaited final book in the series

The storyline was great but the male voice was very monotone. Also while I love the spicy there was far to much of it and it became very same same

I enjoyed the series but hated the male voice

I was dying to listen to this especially after the way the third book ended. While it had some good sections, it felt very anticlimactic and like it just needed to wrap up. In saying all this, the bonus chapter was great and I thoroughly enjoyed that.

Mixed feelings but still enjoyed

I liked this series overall. I am not sure why the male narrator didn’t compare notes with the way the female narrator spoke for Hades. He could have tried to make them sound the same. It was very distracting

The female narrator was great

The need to switch narration style nearly lost me, but i pushed through it.
The range in character voice / tone was lost with the male narrator for me and there was a total disconnect in style. If it wasn’t for the fact i wanted to know how it ended i would have let it go

The Narration switch
