The hunt for the next Wishmaster has begun.

The Wish Curse Palace, the largest criminal organization in the multiverse, seeks its new successor. On Shane's eighteenth birthday, his dormant Wishmaster bloodline awakens, making him a potential heir to the organization's legacy.

In Unity territory, power and public perception go hand-in-hand, empowering an elite class of superheroes and supervillains. Shane must progress through the ranks of heroes to harness his wish-granting abilities. With the help of newfound allies, Shane must showcase acts of heroism to climb the hierarchy, all while concealing the true source of his powers.

Subpar

After seeing this recommended a lot I decided to give it a go however I was very disappointed with the story.

Every part of this book was mediocre at best. Here is a short list of the issues:

1. Character development - Is very poor here. Strong friendships just happen to form despite characters only briefly knowing each other. As an example secondary characters seem to completely trust the MC, despite only knowing him for a short time, and don't hesitate to tell him their secrets.

2. Writing- I just found the writing to be very bland and not appealing to listen.

3. Plot - The plot is forgettable. It seemed like most of the story was MC testing his ability and making friends. The way the plot was constructed also seemed very convenient were the MC was simply handed the plot tools necessary to uncover the mystery rather than trying to figure it out himself.

4. World building- Seemed very superficial to me. Institutes and power structures are in place yet they felt contrived for the sake of plot. Some of it just didn't make sense. Teenagers apparently have a lot of sway in this world.

I'm know this book has fans but I'm definitely not one and will not be continuing the series.
