Story
An achingly funny story from the author of the best-selling You Had Me at Hello. When Edie is caught in a compromising position at her colleagues' wedding, all the blame falls on her - turns out that personal popularity in the office is not that different from your school days. Shamed online and ostracised by everyone she knows, Edie's forced to take an extended sabbatical - ghostwriting an autobiography for hot new acting talent, Elliot Owen. Easy, right? Wrong.

Story
Katie Collins has barely ever left her tiny Irish village of Ennisbawn. Why would she? With its tightknit community, friendly local pub, surrounded by glistening lakes and perfectly mysterious forests, it’s a place of peaceful beauty. Or it was peaceful. Until Callum Dempsey turned up. Part of a hotshot (and, Katie has to admit, hot is annoyingly apt for him...) development team with zero eye for beauty or charm, he’s not only building a hideous hotel just outside the village, he’s also just announced a plan to knock down Ennisbawn’s only remaining pub.

Good distraction
I liked this much more than author’s last book; this is much more upbeat. Definitely not a standard romance structure, it’s almost a novel in two halves, but I enjoyed it. Didn’t love the narrator’s voice for male characters.

Not as funny as her other books.
I love this author and always thrilled to read her books as they come out. I felt this story wasn’t as funny as her others and for some reason I didn’t get into the story line or care about the characters as much. Still enjoyable to read and look forward to the next one.

Will you enjoy choosing this? Definitely.
The author has the knack of weaving her stories together in a new, different and fresh context with them all individually being thoroughly enjoyed.

**if you feel a bit uncertain with the narrator, don’t worry- after about 10 minutes I had for forgotten that I was bothered.

review
I eagerly awaited the release of this audiobook and was sadly disappointed. The narration is so HARSH that I could barely focus on what was being spoken. Each character seems to have a different volume. I used a precious audible credit on it, have tried six times to listen again, but just can't handle the aggressive, sometimes yelling tones. What a shame.

Boring - wasted my money on this drivel
The main character was an egocentric, totally self centred person who manipulated friends and relatives alike. Thoroughly despicable character. Just glad I don’t know anyone like her.
