Story
'Between the Stops is a sort of a memoir, my sort. It's about a bus trip really, because it's my view from the Number 12 bus (mostly top deck, the seat at the front on the right), a double-decker that plies its way from Dulwich, in South East London, where I was living, to where I sometimes work - at the BBC, in the heart of the capital. It's not a sensible way to write a memoir at all, probably, but it's the way things pop into your head as you travel, so it's my way'.

Story
Christian Hull is a hardcore introvert. He loves being a little bit famous for his videos, but at the end of the day, he's a lone wolf - more interested in Caramilk on the couch than cocktails in the club. He's a strong believer in Netflix and chilling at home, alone - he’s always the first to smoke-bomb social events, and he is in a committed relationship with his indoor plants. Christian tells his behind-the-scenes story with his signature, completely unapologetic honesty.

Story
For years, Amy Thunig thought she knew all the details about the day she was born, often demanding that the story of her birth be retold. Years later, heavily pregnant with her own first child, she learns what really happened that day. It’s a tale that exemplifies many of the events of her early life, where circumstances sometimes dictated that things be slightly different from how they might seem–including what is meant by her dad being away for ‘work’ and why her legal last name differs from her family’s.

Woolf's blazing polemic on female creativity, the role of the writer, and the silent fate of Shakespeare's imaginary sister remains a powerful reminder of a woman's need for financial independence and intellectual freedom.

Story
A riveting account of the hidden war in the mountains and cities of the world's most dangerous conflict and the comradeship between man and dog that has saved numerous lives. In Afghanistan, sometimes all that stands between coalition troops and death or serious injury is a dog. Highly trained dogs and their handlers search for improvised explosive devices or hidden weapons out on patrol with combat troops. It's a perilous job, often putting them right in the firing line and making them high-priority targets for the Taliban insurgents they're fighting.

Story
In this luminous memoir, a true American icon looks back on his celebrated life and career. His body of work is arguably the most morally significant in cinematic history, and the power and influence of that work are indicative of the character of the man behind the many storied roles. Sidney Poitier here explores these elements of character and personal values to take his own measure: as a man, as a husband and a father, and as an actor.

Publisher's Summary
A mesmeric, harrowing and uplifting childhood memoir that will open up much-needed conversations about identity and mental health.
It was an ordinary day in 2016. In Gatwick Airport, Jonathan and his wife, Anna, were having breakfast with their two little children while waiting for their flight to be called. And then it happened, a familiar sensation that Jonathan hadn't had for decades: an out-of-body experience that transported him to another place, the safe place he used to escape to in his mind when he was a boy.
Because growing up in conservative 1980s Dublin, where there was little tolerance for children who were 'different', Jonathan Joly was, indeed, a different sort of child: creative, expressive and - on the inside - a girl. The limitations of the people around him to understand his differences led to years of tyrannical bullying and abuse, forcing him to withdraw within himself to the point of clinical absence. His only chance for survival was the inner world he created for himself, rich with loving and supportive friends and playmates, that only he could see. Jonathan's invisible friends were his lifeline, and on that day at the airport, they came flooding back and have remained with him to this day.
This extraordinary childhood memoir is not only an important, thought-provoking and exhilarating listen, it gives hope and community for all those who have ever felt 'other' and proves how vital it is to provide children with the safe space to be themselves.
In All My Friends Are Invisible, Jonathan Joly, known widely as one of social media's most successful content creators, shares the secret he's kept hidden these many years. He shows the beautiful world he retreated to time and time again when life was unbearable for his 'skin machine'. Most importantly, he introduces us to his invisible friends, and in so doing you may be transported back to the friends you had as a child that no one else could see, and who may have saved you, too.
When you find yourself living in a world that doesn't understand you, and you lack any connection to anyone or any place, you are faced with few options. You can choose to leave this world and hope whatever lies beyond ends up being better, or you can create your own. It will require grit, hardship, pain and suffering, but the rewards will be great, and the journey will be greater, and the adventures will be endless. So, at a very young age and faced with these options, I chose the latter.

Dissociative Identity Dissorder?
This book was relatable for me in so many ways. Creating other worlds inside, other personalities taking over, memory loss when they were out. It worked as a child, it saved my life. It was dysfunctional as an adult. It was very hard to listen to at times. Love the Irish accent :) the writing and reading was grand so it was.

Brilliant & Important
I really enjoyed listening to the audio version of this book. I was with Jonathan & friends the entire time, experiencing what they were experiencing, feeling how they felt. This was made easy by how well written it was - it took me back to how you react to things as a little kid, how you so innocently see the world.
Jonathan’s inner world was described so beautifully - and the narration was so well done. I’d love a part two! Such an important story. Thank you.

Wow
I have never finished an audiobook due to my horrible attention span. I finished this in one day! That is huge for me. Yes I had to rewind and replay loads but I finished it. And in a single day. Wow! I’m not sure how to articulate what kept me engaged and for a person who can’t read due to an inability to focus, this held my interest. Well done.
