It's been a long wait but we finally have this book on Audio. Overall, I don't mind Peter Joyce but he has no business attempting high-pitched feminin..Show More »e or elven voices. And I was a little disappointed in his choices for character accents. E.g. The Tsurani were Roman in my mind, but he gave them an oriental accent. There were some editing mishaps in the last couple of hours: pauses in dialogue that make you wonder if we've moved on to the next scene. As for the story, it's hardly as I recall but I enjoyed it none the less. I like the way it moves quickly, not dwelling unnecessarily. There might be a few too many characters, nothing that a handy character map couldn't assist with.
Overall a great book, great characters and settings. One of the better fantasy series on Audible. Unfortunately the are some strange long pauses a..Show More »nd jumps with audio, that are obvious enough to be a little distracting
Ending the rift war saga on a epic note, the story completes the one started in Magician. The only fault is the narrators pronunciation of some words ..Show More »and names. Specifically Arutha's name pronounced Aroota, and instead of saying "he leapt upon his horse" says "he leaped upon his horse". Cringeworthy. However overall a well read story.
