At the top! I loved it!Pretty much complained via email right away because the second book is not available on Audible yet!! Hurry up!Anne bishop crea..Show More »tes worlds that just capture me completely. She is an amazing author who inspires me and keeps me entertained in ever book she has written.Meg Corbyn is a blood prophet known as a Cassandra sangue she can see the future when her skin is cut, each cut brings her closer to death, each cut earns her controller money. Meg is a strong character, from the get go almost freezing in her escape. She may appear fragile to the others but she is anything but. Meg finds protection, safety and friendship in the unlikely place of the courtyard of the others, run my Simon Wolfguard. The tension between Meg and Simon is beautiful and not many authors can pull that off!Meg and Simons growing and evolving relationship is so natural and gradual. You can read a million urban fantasy novels and the same things happen over and over, girl meets boy, they get together profess their love, struggle, win - happy ending. Anne does not do that, it all plays out naturally, its slow and moving and beautiful. Your relationship with the characters grows as their relationship with each other grows. You smile and laugh when you as the reader know/ understand their confusion of their thoughts and feelings. Its powerful. Its something Anne is a master off.
I enjoyed the first book the most and the second book was ok but this last book was a huge bore. Barley anything happened. Most of the novel was fil..Show More »led with minutiae and seriously lacking on plot and more importantly it lacks on character development. Very let down. It was as if the author didn't care about the series anymore and just slapped it together.
The down side of getting caught up with a series that the author is writing, is always the wait time for the next book. Especial when these books are ..Show More »written in the style of a true trilogy and not just a series of books written about characters in the same made up universe loosely linked to the previous book. When I first started listening to these books I was uncomfortable with the whole girls cutting themselves but I still loved the story. I liked this book it is very much a story about the bigger plot line so if you are expecting it to be more romance you are going to be disappointed. Is is going to be interesting to see where the Author goes with the next book if there is a next book. I would love to see her ephemera series done as audio books.
Anne Bishop concludes the series in a way fraught with twists and turns. As the end of a series you can never truly know how it will end. I admittedly..Show More » listened to a couple of the last chapters at 1.25x time because I wanted to know what happened (never been known for my patience). Hope to see more from the world of the Others in the future!
