In this captivating thriller, Eva Svärta and her partner, Erwan Leroy, are investigating a drug case when they find the burned body of a cocaine dealer. However, they discover that the case is more sordid than they first thought. Someone has cut off the victim's tongue and torn out his heart - a ritual that mimics a punishment reserved for witches in the Middle Ages. Even worse, while looking for clues in the victim's apartment, they discover the dead body of a newborn baby.
