Aislinn has always seen faeries. Powerful and dangerous, they walk hidden in the mortal world. Aislinn fears their cruelty - especially if they learn of her Sight - and wishes she were as blind to their presence as other teens.
Rule #2: Don't speak to invisible faeries.
Now faeries are stalking her. One of them, Keenan, who is equal parts terrifying and alluring, is trying to talk to her, asking questions Aislinn is afraid to answer.
Rule #1: Don't ever attract their attention.
But it's too late. Keenan is the Summer King who has sought his queen for nine centuries. Without her, summer itself will perish. He is determined that Aislinn will become the Summer Queen at any cost - regardless of her plans or desires.
Suddenly, none of the rules that have kept Aislinn safe are working anymore, and everything is on the line: her freedom; her best friend, Seth; her life; everything.
Faerie intrigue, mortal love, and the clash of ancient rules and modern expectations swirl together in Melissa Marr's stunning 21st-century faery tale.

"A fully imagined faery world which even non-fantasy (or faerie) lovers will want to delve into." (Publishers Weekly)
"The fantasy of being pursued by two young men is alluring in itself, but when one is a pierced and tattooed sexy outsider and the other is a blindingly beautiful King of Faery, how much better can it get?" (The Washington Post's Book World)

I found this really entertaining and I fell in love with the main characters Aislinn and her love Seth. Just a refreshing twist on the world of Fey.
"Well, I certainly liked it!"
I am an adult who listened to this book to preview it for my pre-teen daughter. Now we're both going to read/listen to the whole series.
This series is awesome, each book is a treat, hard to not listen to it ALL THE TIME! You will love it.
This book was GREAT! The narrator was great, the storyline was awesome, and it had some twists you don't see coming. You couldn't help but love the heroine. She is strong, clever, and doesn't let anyone push her around. Her characters were very believable and were more real because of their flaws. I would definitely recommend this book.
"Spit out the gum!"
Good story and I really wish the narrator could have, at least, done a passing job at telling it. If you can get past the smacking of the gum and sucking sounds, you might get through this book.
I always thought as fairy's as creatures at the bottom of your garden, but in this wicked offering the world of fairy is anything but sweet and gentle in fact these mischief's and some times cruel foke make our heroins life a misery . I found this refreshing and quietly strong in it's narrative, something of which I found quit likeable I never thought I'd like a book about fairy's but I did and this led me to other novels that I have also enjoyed so,for a good heroin who finds her true self and a bunch of pissed of far foke I say go crazy.
"I absolutely LOVED this book!"
Yes. This book kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish! I did not want to stop listening! It was such a creative and great story. I loved the descriptions of the faeries and the powers they each possessed.
It's so hard to decide. I guess the heroine was my favorite for this book, but I have read the others and I really like neil's character because his past seems to have a mystery to it that makes me want to find out more. I like Aislinn because she was very strong and the idea of a mortal that could see faeries and the author's description of how that effected her life was very intriguing. I had no idea where this fear of the faeries was going to take her next... But she eventually overcame her fear and was able to do what she was destined to do after years of being told that faeries were bad and not to be trusted.
There were so many I liked, but I really enjoyed the love story between Seth and Aislinn.
If you love to read fantasy with unique characters and story line, you will love this book!
"Better than expected"
I actually did not want to like this book because there are so many in the series :) But after just a few pages,I was hooked. Parts of the story were predictable, but to get to those points the story was a lot of fun. I particularly enjoyed the descriptions of the summer fae in the sun beams that surround them.
It looks like each book in the series involves different characters, so I don't know if you need to read one after the other right away, which would make reading the series easie
"Wicked Lovely key details"
The first thing you'll notice (sadly) is the narrator's gravely voice it kind of dilutes the illusion of the young adult romantic triangle, or quadrangle. The narrator sadly doesn't have a lot of range of emotion or voice characterization, and so some of the excitement or finer points of feeling are lost in translation. But a grudging sort of familiarity is reachable towards the middle or end of the book. The story however is as they say a different story. Its dangerously wild fantasy with lots of the romantic magical attractions thrown in. Between the point of surprising modern fairy-tale like aspects and the intriguing plot points of betrayal, heritage, and twisted love...it comes out very nice. Not all pots of gold and fairy sunshine, but hopeful and heartbreaking at the same time.
"One of my favorites"
I"ve read the first two in this series and decided to try them on Audible. I love them!!! This is definitly worth a listen
This was a lovely book to listen to the narrator did a very good job and I found her voice very easy on the ears. The story centres around Aislinn (Ash) who has seen fairies all her life, no-one else can, and until recently the fairies have taken very little interest in her until they seem to be stalking her. The book I thought was very original and even though is aimed for the teen market (I have a teen daughter myself) I found that it really appealed to me - it is after all a love story with good strong characters.
"Perfect Modern Fairytale"
Wicked Lovely really does have it all; an engaging style, strong characters and combines the traditional fairytale beautifully with modern teenage life. Fresh, original and wonderfully narrated.
"Couldn't put it down!"
What more could you ask for - teenage angst, passion, love and Fairies.I have started the second book already and hope Audible provides the third in the series pretty smartish as I am now totally addicted!! Well written and narrated would definately recomend.
"A Modern Fairytale"
Light and dark, winter and summer, mortals and faeries. This is an enticing novel that has taken the traditional fairytale and made it into a modern love triangle that encaptures the heart and makes the reader/listener yearn for more. The book is well written and the narrator was easy to listen to and adapted her style to each character. Looking forward to reading the sequel to find out what happens next to all the characters and see if love will conquer all?
