A lovely story of friendship

The narrator has a lovely gentle voice and voices the characters quite well. The story switches between characters and between past and present. It is painfully sweet and at the end I was wanting more.

Relaxing listening

The story continues from where "The Cay" left off following Phillip and his journey to gain his eyesight back. While also a prequel for Timothy telling the story how he became interested in the sea and his quest to become a captain of his own boat. And of course ultimately how he ended up crossing timelines with phillip in the first book.

Each chapter interchanges between each timeline continuing the story. It was easy to listen to and quite short. But I always wondered what happened next, as I orginally read this story when I was in primary school. It's taken me 15 years to find out the rest and I am glad I found this audio book to wrap it up.

Recommended if you enjoyed the first book.

Excellent continuation of the series

The story does not disappoint as a sequel to "the cay" which I would highly recommend reading before hand. In this sequel the epic continues as well follow the parallel journeys of Philip after the cay, the the life of Timothy before he enters the story of "the cay". The character of Timothy comes alive in this and the narrator's rendition of the Caribbean accents are brilliant!
