What would you do if you were swept into an alternate dimension and faced with the truth: Life does exist outside of Earth?
When Reece is almost violently kidnapped, her entire life begins to change. She soon learns about the man who saved her life in the park and instantly is filled with questions about who he is and why he seems so familiar. The answers she receives from Levi are something that Reece would never have imagined possible. There is life beyond Earth, and it exists because of her!
As she struggles to cope with this theory, she is forced into a futuristic car where she meets another strangely familiar man who introduces himself as Harrison and informs her that he and Levi are from a dimension known as Pemdas. Traveling at what appears to be light speed, Harrison continues to inform Reece that he and Levi are her personal guardians who are sworn to protect her at any cost.
Impossible! Reece can't accept this and begins to question exactly who these men are and where they are taking her. Her answers come swiftly when the car they are in transports them into an entirely different environment. She is rendered speechless as she studies the vivid nature that surrounds them.
Transported into a magical land? The supernatural dimension of Pemdas appears to have traces of Earth in it, but is still worlds apart. It's filled with classic beauty and an electrifying atmosphere, and Reece is completely overwhelmed by what she sees. But her journey is only beginning....
Emperor Navarre Oxley explains to Reece that engraved in her mind by a powerful ancestor is the key to taking over multiple worlds...including Earth. Evil shape-shifting creatures known the Ciatron want to steal the map from Reece's mind and take over all of the dimensions and worlds in the universe. The Guardians must protect Reece in order to save Earth and all of the dimensions that exist due to Earth remaining unaltered.
As Reece finds herself increasingly attracted to Levi, Emperor Navarre's son and her personal guardian on Earth, she finally opens her mind to this new world and starts accepting the unique lifestyle of this enchanting world. With this, she discovers sweeping landscapes and capricious creatures who transfer their energy to the people of Pemdas. Most of all, she experiences peace in her life like nothing she has ever experienced.
Her newfound peace is instantly replaced with the shock of her life when she is placed in grave danger! Betrayed, the Guardians now must defeat their greatest enemy as all dimensions turn against them. They are forced to place Reece in grave danger in order to make peace with leaders of all dimensions. Will Reece Bryant be taken from the protection of the Guardians and forced into the hands of the Ciatron?
Now that the Key's true identity is exposed, the Guardians find themselves in the greatest disadvantage that they have ever known. If the Guardians lose the power to protect Reece, the Key, every living being will fall victim to the greatest enemy Earth has ever known.

"Trans-dimensional romance? This has to be one of the most detailed books that I have read that wasn’t dry or boring. I mean I could imagine being in the Reece’s bedroom and feeling the soft fabric of the couch. I could see Harrison’s eyes, and what beautiful eyes they were. Not only that but the plot is actually something that I had not read before. I mean you get paranormals and stuff, but this is completely different, realms inside of realms? The worlds and people that S.L. created really blew me away." (Fangfrakingtastic Reviews)

If the writing had been better; if the story had been better; if the narrator had been better.
Annoyance. A presumably intelligent woman who is in medical school pining over someone she hardly knows because 'he's so handsome', ad nauseum. There was endless descriptions of fabric, furniture, the color of foliage. Ugh. The big showdown at the end is a big flop where nothing actually happens. There is an alternate dimension on Earth with considerably advanced technology that resembles a cross between Jane Austen and Downton Abbey where everyone speaks English. Needless to say, there are lots of problems with the plot. Oh, did I mention the aliens with flying saucers?
"Struggled to finish."
Slow narration that stressed every word. She, pulled, out, her, chair. Then, she, sat, down.
The reviews made it sound really good, but only one review on the page gave it low stars and they were the only ones that got it smack dab right. The narration was slow and the book was even slower and I grappled to see the plot.
Chapters 5 through 15 could be completely cut from the story, they don't even expand on the love interest part. There was little to no plot and the first time it is kind of introduced is in chapter 16. The start is okay and then it just falls off in to shopping and details about people clothing. The world building got out of hand and I would like to see more substance. More plot. I felt like the characters were flat, didn't change or evolve or learn anything at all. It was very black and white and the bad character just gave herself away, it was all too easy with no struggle so when I got to the end, there really was no climax. Idea is good, world is good, but the story needs work.
I don't think the narrator was too terrible considering what she had to work with. I found the voices a little extreme and at times hard to understand. Every time Simone talked, I wanted to rip my ears out. She needs to mind her pacing, action scenes should be faster than the rest and it almost seemed like she was talking that slow on purpose, but I struggle to finish this book, but made it in order to give it a thorough review.
There is really only a handful of characters, but none of them learn anything or evolve or struggle. For instance, I would like to have seen Reese try to get along with Simone in the beginning instead of make a snap judgment and be right. The story would have been a lot more interesting if they were friends and then Simone betrayed her. I would have like to see Harrison have more of a role because he actually seemed like the only character with personality, maybe he fell for Reese too and had to battle Levi out for it. In any case, I feel that there was so much that could have been done with this book and it just kind of falls short of the reviews I read.
Romance is nice, but plot is important. Without the plot, the romance just feels like it is ill deserved. Make them fight for it. Tear them apart. Make someone lose an arm. It was just too easy.
"Really enjoyed the story."
I loved the story. The performance not so much. Sometimes she forgot which voice to use.
"Please get a different narrator!!!!!"
This story is good. I struggled to finish it due to the narrator. I listen to tons of books on Audible and this woman is hands down the worst. Took her longer to say words than if they were spelled out!!! I want to listen to the second book but I just can't. It was literally torture to listen to this books at times. This is a good SciFi book destroyed by the narrator.
"Play the audio on 1.25 speed"
It is boring... not worth the credit. I played the audio at 1.25 speed because the audio is extremely slow.
"Narrator spoke too slowly!"
I enjoyed the story and I would like to go on with the series but I cannot bear to drag through another book at this pace!!
When I'm listening to a story, i want people to speak as they do in real life. No one that I know speaks this slowly....ugh!
"I enjoyed. it!"
A very well written book with a decent narrator. I look forward to reading/listening to the next book.
Decent story, but hard to listen to the erratic cadence of the narrator, who appears to be English speaking, but apparently cannot read with the appropriate rhythm, inflection or flow.
This book does not have a good story line nor does it have a good narrator. 😑😴
"An amazing story that will captivate your heart."
One of my top three audiobooks
Ancient Guardians uninvited (book 2) and Ancient Guardians The Awakening.
All three books are just as exciting as the next.
I would recommend this book to anyone who as a passoin for true romance.
