Publisher's Summary

The thrilling conclusion to the New York Times best-selling Tearling trilogy.

In less than a year, Kelsea Glynn has transformed from a gawky teenager into a powerful monarch. As she has come into her own as the Queen of the Tearling, the headstrong, visionary leader has also transformed her realm. In her quest to end corruption and restore justice, she has made many enemies - including the evil Red Queen, her fiercest rival, who has set her armies against the Tear.

To protect her people from a devastating invasion, Kelsea did the unthinkable - she gave herself and her magical sapphires to her enemy - and named the Mace, the trusted head of her personal guards, regent in her place. But the Mace will not rest until he and his men rescue their sovereign, imprisoned in Mortmesne.

Now, as the suspenseful endgame begins, the fate of Queen Kelsea - and the Tearling itself - will finally be revealed.

gripping

quite bloodthirsty, but fantastic story telling. quite an unusual story and ending.
the swearing and blasphemy did not really fit, and was quite jarring, certainly didn't add anything to the story.

dissapointing

I enjoyed first 2 books.
This book was so boring.I felt like I was waiting for something to happen constantly.
The end last 2 chapters were slow.
I was greatful it finally put me out of my misery and finished.
The narrator did not pull the male character's off.Sounded ridiculous.

Excellent except for …

The change of narrator is disappointing but the story is still exciting and a real page turner.

A very satisfying conclusion to the series which is instantly going into my favourites folder to be listened to again.

Sadly though the new narrator, Polly Lee, while being capable enough does not do as good a job as the previous reader. Still good and the change should not stop anyone who has listened to the previous books from enjoying this final in the series.

Thoroughly interesting

This series has been a great listen.
Like a book you can’t put down, I kept listening at home, doing housework in headphones.
I found the story gripping and the concept interesting.
It’s nice when a series is performed by the same narrator, however, this series has a different narrator for each book (all from the same character’s perspective), but it worked well and wasn’t a distraction at all.
I’ve found a new author and narrators to follow now.
