With an agoraphobic mother and a barely-there father, Sang abhors the isolation keeping her in the shadows. The only thing Sang craves is a fresh start and to be accepted as ordinary by her peers, because for her being different meant being cast out alone. When her family moves to a new school district, Sang infiltrates a group of boys nearly perfect in every way. Grateful for an influence outside of her parents' negativity, she quickly bonds with the boys, hoping to blend in and learn from them what it means to have a natural relationship with friends. Only the boys have secrets of their own and they'll do anything to keep her safe from the knowledge of the mysterious Academy that they've sworn allegiance to. Bit by bit, Sang discovers that her friends are far from the normalcy she expected. Will her loyalty change when she's forced to remain in the dark, or will she accept that she's traded one house of secrets for another? Meet Kota, Victor, Silas, Nathan, Gabriel, Luke and North in a story about differences and loyalty, truth and mystery, friendships and heart-throbbing intimacy. The Academy, ever vigilant.

I probably wouldn't recommend this book just as the voices are a little confusing
Not necessarily any cast changes but maybe a little more focus on keeping the boys voices in line with the character , like victor is southern(???) . I'm only in chapter four and I'm hearing the voices slip between Kota and Victor
I would certainly hope it's made into a movie or TV series
"Please do the next in the series!"
I am a huge fan of the Ghost Bird series and I was very pleased with the audiobook. It is such a pleasure to be able to take a walk or drive and visit with the Academy Boys and Sang again. Except now I am greedy for the next in the series to be made into an audiobook.
Cute and sweet. Deeper than I expected with some pretty horrific scenes (or mentions) of abuse. The book takes place over a week's time and definitely felt like a first episode rather than a complete story. 'Introductions' was a very apt name for this book. I'd suggest dipping your feet into this series, especially as this book is free in ebook and eligible for whispersync.
"CHRIS ENSWEILER MURDERED THE NARRATION"
I have waited forever for this book series to make it to audible.
HOWEVER the narration in this book was just murdered. Chris Ensweiler could not have done a worse job. This is probability thee worst narration iv come across. The voices where poorly done.
They did notmatch the characters descriptions at all. For example Victor is described as a thin lanky teen. Who's a concert pianist and his family is wealthy. In the book he has the most poorly over done southern accent!!? Also some times the voices become muddled and kota ends up with a southern accent that faded in and out. Other times you just couldn't tell who was speaking.
I am so disappointed. I didn't have unrealistic expectations for the audio book being that I had already read the book and loved it. but with narration so poor that someone who has read the book more then once I still couldn't tell who was speaking. Other listeners will be lost.
please get rid of Chris!
"Wish there was more"
Love listening at work. Wish more of the series was recorded. The voices are perfect and soothing to listen too
I love this whole series of books! And I particularly enjoyed that they had a male and a female narrate together. Some audiobooks, whom ever is narrating does all the voices, male or female, and that sets this book apart. I can't wait till all the books are made into audio format!
I have already read the books but have always wanted to be able to hear it on my way to and from work. This is phenomenal! C.L.Stone you picked the right narrators. Chris Ensweiler was amazing at doing all the different voices...and there are a lot of guys in these books! I can't wait for the rest. Hurry, please!!
I loved reading this series and love hearing it in audio books. keep em coming.
Love the books and the narration turned out nice. Another way to enjoy a super fun series!!
"Most amazing narrator ever"
So, Chris Ensweiler is amazing. He manages not only to voice all the male voices, but gives them each their unique accents and subtle nuances! Seriously, this is a book I have already listened to multiple times because he is so good!
All the the boys really came to life thanks to Chris's performance.
The accents!!! So good!
Yes (and I did!)
I love this series and this brings it to life. I have listened to it multiple times.
I loved reading this book but loved listening to it more. I hope they do the rest
