History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time.
Alexandria isn’t sure she’s going to make it to her eighteenth birthday - to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she’s a goner…and so is Aiden.
If that’s not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training" - which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time - she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.
But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she’s caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed…and destroyed. Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate...

"It got my attention...."
This series has a bad wrap because the plot like is similar to Vampire Academy series. Yes the series does have similarities, but it break off into its own story. This series is about a hidden society of Greek Gods and their descendants ( I'm a huge fan of Greek mythology). Within the society there is a political cast system with pure blood descendants as the ruling class and the half-blood descendants as the lesser class of guards or servants for the pure bloods. It is law that there cannot be any relations between any pure bloods and half-bloods, any that are caught it is punishable by death. We have our 17 teen year old heroine Alexandria who is a half-blood in school training to be sentinel guard. Trying to catch up in school to graduate after being absent for 3 years while on the run with her mother, gorgeous pure-blood sentinel Aidan agrees to train her. The couple has to fight their forbidden attraction and Alex slowly finds out why her mother was trying to hide her from the covenant, Alex is slated to become the most powerful weapon in their world, but she isn't alone there is another that can harness the same power. Deity kept my attention and it ends in a cliffhanger and I already pre-ordered the next one.
I'm loving these books. it keeps you on the edge wanting more. The storyline is captivating.
I really like the story but man does the heroine go on my nerves. She never learns, never gets better, just keeps on making the same dumb mistakes acting the same dumb childish way and everybody just forgives her and loves her despite of it. Gah.
All other characters are great. I mean don't get me wrong I like when the main character is human and well, not perfect but there comes a point where I wish somebody would smack her and tell her to grow up or well, die and get replaced :-) seriously.
"oh my god!!"
I didn't see that coming at all, best one so far! I always hated her step dad.
This is hands down one of the best series out there. The story is fabulous and the performance is flawless.
Yes, but only because I do not have the time to sit a read a print version.
Alexandria, of course.
Anyone who knows how to properly pronounce the names of the Greek gods and goddesses and the other words associated with Greek mythology! This series has been practically torture to listen to!!
No, that is not possible.
Either get a new narrator, or teach her to ask her for help when she doesn't know how to pronounce a word correctly.
Yes, because here we discover who is the person behind the attacks.
The plot, although tiring in some parts, hold the listener's attention.
No. I wanted listening and know the end, but no in one sitting.
Great book. Good listening time.
I recommend all of her books but the covenant series is my absolute favorite. This is my fourth time listening to it. Justine Eyre does such a wonderful job!
I thought this story was excellent kept me In Suspense and I really can not wait to listen to the next book
"Poor Alex needs a vacation!"
Yes! This series is really well done. This book really steps up the action. Alex is being pushed and pulled in a million directions. None of which she really wants. All of it is inevitable though, its just when, where and how and with who which is really the most important part.
I really like Alex and Aiden together. They make a good pair
She is really "the voice" of these characters now in this 3rd book.
Yes. I want to see how it all plays out.
When I first started this book, I thought this was the last one. I about cried when I found out there was one more. It almost killed me to wait the few weeks it took until the last book came out.
