Fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird has managed to settle in at the House of Night. She's come to terms with the vast powers the vampyre goddess, Nyx, has given her, and is getting a handle on being the new Leader of the Dark Daughters. Best of all, Zoey finally feels like she belongs-like she really fits in. She actually has a boyfriend...or two.
Then the unthinkable happens: Human teenagers are being killed, and all the evidence points to the House of Night. While danger stalks the humans from Zoey's old life, she begins to realize that the very powers that make her so unique might also threaten those she loves.
Then, when she needs her new friends the most, death strikes the House of Night, and Zoey must find the courage to face a betrayal that could break her heart, her soul, and jeopardize the very fabric of her world.

Another Great PC Cast novel / series. This is a must if you like paranormal.
"House Of Night :Betrayed"
Once again I really enjoyed this, Ediwina Wren's narration really makes the story come alive. An excellent audio book.
Edwina Wren is a terrible narrator, she cannot pronounce some common words, and she gives Shaunee a character from Connecticut a Southern accent, which makes absolutely no sense and is very distracting.
Good Series though.
"Suffering through Edwina Wren narration.....still"
Going to tear my hair out if she says dipo for depot again! Please - just please - get on with your mis-pronouncing self! See - easy peezy!
The book is good - love the story and it continues well - can't we redo and have a better narrator?
"the narrator mispronounces words a lot"
The story is good. For the most part the narrator is good but she mispronounces words a lot.
"Interesting Plot, Poorly Executed"
Honestly, the only reason I listened to this sequel was because I was able to purchase the first and second on sale. I had read the books quite some time ago and didn't realize/remember how horrible it was until listening to it. The book is supposed to be written about a 16 year old instead I feel like it was written BY a 16 year old. There are so many sentences that were worded so poorly I seriously question whether or not there was ever a creditable editor involved. I can't stand the excessive use of words like "poopy," it literally made me cringe. Also, the main character frustrates me like hell. For one, I understand this is meant to be from the perspective of a young girl, but the way she describes people (I.E. dork, loser, ugly, super gay, fag) makes me sad. I just feel like the heroin of a story should be above that. She isn't particularly kind, even when it comes to her friends. Also, the character develop is horrific. Zoey decides she HAS to take care of things, but there isn't any substance leading up to it. I don't know if I feel this way because the narrator's inflections were often misplaced, but over all I was incredibly disappointed. This series doesn't fall into any category appropriate for any age. Its too sexual for younger kids, yet too immature for even an 18 year old. I'm done. Definitely not going to waste any more money on this.
I don't even know where to start! Edwina constantly mispronounces words. I'm not even referring to words like drama, in which anyone with a native Australian accent would pronounce as "dramer", I'm talking about words like Arkansas! She literally says Arr Kansas, was no one directing this or paying attention to this?! I don't know how much audio books invest in their narrators, but someone please get this woman an accent coach! She made the token black girl from Connecticut sound like she was from Louisiana. Talk about stereotype! This made the book that much more excruciating. Also, as I previously mentioned her inflections are way off! when someone is happy she'll sound angry. When someone is complimenting someone she'll sound prissy. Its like she never read the book before reading it and just showed up to the recording.
"Love story hate narrator"
I loved the story which is why I was able to finish it. The narrator makes nasty noises that make my hair stand on end.
The narrator needs a drink of water or something, it was horrible. It's like listening to someone smack while eating.
LOVE Pc and her books and would recommend her to anyone.
Each book, keeps getting better!!! I couldn't stop listening to it!
"House of Night: Betrayed"
Fun and undeniably teenagerish!
The second book was just as good as the first. At the end, you can't wait to begin reading the third book!
As with Marked, I found this book gripping, although it took a little longer for me to get into. While I appreciate the books are being told from a teenager's point of view and therefore have to sound like that, I think it was over done in certain places. The use of words like 'totally' and 'gazilian' as well as made up words like 'gihugic' did start to grow a bit repetative. While I don't generally approve of books where a girl strings several guys along, I have to accept that it makes for a more interesting story. What I like the most about this series is my inability to predict what will happen at any given moment. I've always hated books where you've worked out the plot long before the big reveal, and these Authors aren't above throwing in the shock factor when it sutes them. Fans who liked Marked will enjoy this title and will eagerly snap up the next in the series.
the book is amazing no doupt and the reading is good but it does jump from time to time
Loved it ! I'm caught up in this world and think it would make a great film !
"Great Vampire Series"
This series is a little different to the normal vampire novels, I.e. twilight, vampire diaries and etc. However, it does not let down. The difference in comparison is brilliant. And Just as good. I am really addicted to this series!
