Brilliant!

One of the best stories for people of all ages, full of humour and philosophy, excitement and courage. Stephen Briggs narrates beautifully, with a rich variety of perfectly attuned characters. Of course Terry Pritchett is the master of plot and language, as always. The trilogy that this book begins would make a good starting point for all of Sir Terry’s work or as a starting point to all the world’s literature.

An exciting adventure for the young and equally young at heart.

I loved the descriptive way Mr Pratchett tells a story. I found myself totally caught up in the story. When one accepts the book was written for the young I found myself waiting for the annoying interruptions to disappear so that I could pick up where I left off.
At seventy eight years young I just loved the book and indeed I will be purchasing all three of the series.

A story for all ages

Accessible to both children and adults and read beautifully by Stephen Briggs, this story kept me captivated. The deeper and darker points about human nature that Terry Pratchett makes in his later Discworld novels are only lightly touched on here; enough to make the novice Pratchett listener start thinking and noticing these truths in the world around themselves. The story ends on a note that makes me want to know what happens next.
