When Michael Jordan left the Chicago Bulls to play baseball in 1993, the team was in crisis. Coach Phil Jackson, a long-time mindfulness practitioner, contacted Dr. Kabat-Zinn to find someone who could teach mindfulness techniques to the struggling team - someone who would have credibility and could speak the language of his players. Kabat-Zinn led Jackson to Mumford and their partnership began. Mumford has worked with Jackson and each of the eleven teams he coached to become NBA champions. This is a wonderful book for those interested in mindfulness as it applies to sport and life. Engaging whilst teaching practices and principles. Beautifully narrated. And in part an inspiring autobiography acts as a non preachy reinder to tred our own paths, live our own lives fully.
Pretty good book. As an elite athlete it's not the in depth phycology I was expecting as it skins the top of in depth phycology principles and its quite religion based but even as a more non religious person it's still got some very good points. Worth a read to hear about different perspectives and provoke awareness..something a lot of phycology based books miss.
This book has become part of my "read every year" list. Great advices, and lots of wisdom.

is needed to achieve greatness in sports. So watch your breath and be present!"... Thousands of videos on YouTube that will tell you more and guide you better to practices that you can follow. Don't waste your money/time with this!

personally experienced a lot of meditation and theory before, so almost stopped reading but after initial introduction (which was good just not new for me) got very good. really enjoyed and v useful.
