Publisher's Summary

Good and evil play their game to determine whether humanity gets a second chance, and their pawns are the living and the dead. ALPA and Westfield have formed a strong alliance that keeps both settlements safe and growing. Adrian has even found time to discover a new love with Mallory. All is well. But when evil plays the game, it plays for keeps. The greatest move of all will use a piece very close to Adrian. When Adrian is betrayed by someone he loves, the whole world may suffer the consequences of his wrath. Book Five of the AUD epic brings a new vision of the apocalypse.

In "Providence" and "Dream a Little Dream", good and evil will have their say, and in "A Traitor's Death", Adrian's will to go on might be shattered forever. Featuring a foreword by Kirk Allmond, author of What Zombies Fear.

Wrath is book Five in the Adrian's Undead Diary epic, and contains Adrian's journal entries from May 1st, 2011 through June 23rd, 2011. It also contains the side fictions "Providence", "Homecoming", "Zombie Scissorfight", "Dream a Little Dream", and "A Traitor's Death".

    "Taken to another level!"

I love this series, each one continues to improve. 'Wrath' in my view is the stand out in the series, it moves a lot faster, and it ties a lot of the story line together. The use of ‘one liners’ which relate to earlier story lines just brings back the story fresh to mind. For example, ‘hurting my big toe’ is meant to help you recall the great pushing poo down the drain story!

Other characters play a far more important role than they did in the earlier books. The way some of the detail with the back story comes together is brilliant. We really are heading for a great climax in the series.

The narration is good, I only sped this one up a tad to 1.25x Which means you could, if you tried fit this one into one day of listening pleasure.

After the last in the series I was scared the supernatural good/evil God/Satan thing was going to ruin this series. But no it certainly did not. I just loved the interaction between the characters and the spiritual/supernatural (whatever you want to call it).

I do find it strange writing a review for a 5th in a series, because if you have made it through all 4 than you know how good the series is, you don’t need a review. If you haven’t listened to the earlier one’s you normally wouldn’t just read the review of the 5th book. But if by some chance you haven’t listened to the series you could just purchase this one (it is that good). But you would be missing out on so much, do yourself a favour purchase them all and set yourself a week to do nothing but listen to this series and then do what I will have to do rock back and forth in the corner and wait for the next!

"BEST OF THE SERIES SO FAR!!"
Would you consider the audio edition of Wrath to be better than the print version?

Isn't it always? But I only listened!

What other book might you compare Wrath to and why?

Well its in the Zombie/Prepper genre...but its diary style..so it is unique!

    Which scene was your favorite?

I truly just really liked it all!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it was...and I almost did!

    Any additional comments?

I am super duper loving this series...this one was the best so far!! It was a bit sadder than the other books, and it explained a lot of unanswered questions...and things that were making me go Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm??? Totally still crushing on Adrian!!! and am moving on to #6 now, its actually already in my ears....lol

    STILL HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

    "Very Good listen"

I have so far listened to each book in the series one after the other and I am addicted. Great story with some twists, some I consider a bit out there but now believe are very good. If you love zombie books and are ready for something different then I recommend this series.

Narration is excellent, I do feel the narration is perfectly done using voice well, emotion, humour, fear, every nuance of the voice is used as it should be. Gave real life to the story. I felt this is a diary read as it should be, first person not narration.

    Excellent story
    Excellent Narration

Hence five stats all round... Lets see if that continues for the next books

The AUD series and Chris have done it again. Along with the superb narration by James Foster, this story takes on a new twist into the 1 year Anniversary of the end of days. Can't wait until book 6...

    "Love This Series"

Chris Philbrook has taken the Zombie genre in a whole new direction with this engrossing series. No longer are we subject to speculation and inferred reasoning behind a Zombie Apocalypse which are so prevalent in other authors works. With AUD we have concrete answers to the why of things. We also get in Adrian, a character that is as real as any normal human being that has been thrust into extraordinary circumstances. The series as a whole is simply a joy to read and listen to. Wrath, the fifth installment, is a real turning point in the series and reveals much to the reader. It is full of humor and profound sadness, as well as dread and hope. It is a must listen.

This is the fifth book in the Adrian's Undead Diary series. You will need to have read the others to enjoy this one. If you have read into the series this far, keep reading! You won't be disappointed. This book has the journal format of the other books as well as vignettes like those featured in the last book. This book still has action and survival, but as the series progresses, each book really settles into character and story development. These are not only gory zombie fare. The story is really getting interesting.

I have listened to this entire series (more than once). I have loved every book. The story line is great. Each book has small daily plots as well as an overarching plot making each book a complex mixture of ideas and emotions. The character development is fantastic. It is the apocalypse story that has a little something for everyone. Gun porn - check. Tactical discussion - check. Actual daily survival - check. Emotional and personal interactions - check. Zombie killing - check. Funny stuff - check. NotTooOverTheTop spiritual elements - check. you get the idea.

This book and the rest of the series is all good stuff. Seriously.

    The narrator is great. Perfect.

"What's not to love about this-Philbrook and Foster"
Where does Wrath rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's in the top ten series.

What does James Foster bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He's one of my all time favorite narrators, he is excellent at his job and brings each book he does to life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, however I do have a life, which gets in the way...

"umm wait how is this not a movie."

This is one of the greatest story I've listen to this year. The character development is well paced and the story is never slows down. I can't wait to start to start the next book. At this point as a lister I feel invested and need to see if the soul will save mankind or will he doom it.
