Wizard scouts are the elite, deep-recon forces of the Intergalactic Empire. The Intergalactic Wizard Scout Academy has been producing wizard scouts for over 800 years, but is the Academy's long history coming to an end?
Richard is only in his junior year at the Academy, but it may well be his last. The war with the bat-like Crosioians is straining the resources of the Intergalactic Empire to the breaking point. Every soldier is needed on the front lines to stave off the Empire's destruction. Not to mention politicians are eyeing the Academy as a financial drain that can no longer be justified. To top things off, teams of spell-wielding magic users have been spotted reconnoitering near the Academy. What does it all mean?
Between the Crosioians, politicians, and magic users, Richard and his friends are being assaulted from every side. The fate of the Academy, and indeed the entire Empire, may well lie in their hands. Outnumbered and outgunned, what can mere cadets do? But they're wizard scout cadets, and it'll be a cold day on Sirius when they'll let anyone threaten their Academy without a fight.
Join Richard and his friends as they stare near-certain defeat in the face. Will their wizard scout training be enough? Not even the best calculations of the battle computer, Nickelo, can tell for sure. But one thing's for certain, the Crosioians picked the wrong cadets to mess with.

I found this book to start slow, and parts were confusing as the author developed the background of "the One"!
Still, I enjoyed listening to this book!
"Could be so much better"
Let me first say that I love the world or at least the parts explored so far. The plot is OK but the storytelling is mediocre. Repetitive sequences and not to mention paragraphs with the exact same text. By this book I know sealing the suit inserts tubes and needles please stop regurgitating it. That is only one example, but there are many more.
The "dialogue" between the battle computer "Nic" and the protagonist is also not funny or entertaining.
Get some more help and clean this up...can be so much better
A good listen overall. Imagine Enders Game meets Harry Potter. The universe's existence is threatend, but a gun slinging wizard and his friends hold the line.
"Slow and confusing"
This series should not be taken out of order. Each sequel builds upon things listed in previous books. Information about 'The One' is scattered through book. This makes trying to figure him out confusing. This novel tends to have mini stories going on at the same time. This also makes keeping things straight. Just when boredom and the urge to skip ahead sets in, action starts. Some things get repeated often while others are glossed over and dropped. I have a few questions from previous books that don't get answered in this one. Also there is some contradictions compared to previous books. I can think of a few examples but don't want to be a plot spoiler. Guy Williams does a good job with this series.
This book met my highest expectations. Please keep the series coming. Great. You make me feel like I am actually there.
"A Good Read"
I really enjoyed this series and found the narration to e quite good. It was fun and kept me guessing on where the story would take me next. The underlying theme of "The One" is very well intertwined with the story line and links the series together very well. The author is imaginative and well skilled in story telling.
"adventure, action, pulp fiction"
Wizard Scout concludes this series by Rodney Hartment. This is sience-fiction without any science to build the fiction upon. It makes a fine Young Adult book with lots of action and a mix of fantasy with the sci-fi.
A very exciting follow up to the previous novels. can't wait for the next installment
great series love the narration of the story I really like Nick the battle computer
"Mr Hartman, you the MAN!!!"
