Publisher's Summary

In order for the Storm King to cement his power over Osten Ard, he must find and defeat the rebel forces massing against him. But the rebels, led by the exiled Prince Josua, have rallied at the Stone of Farewell and are ready to fight the Storm King with every power they can muster. The key to their victory lies in finding the third sword of legend, Memory - but the sword has been lost for ages.

Lost, that is, until Simon Snowlock realises that he knows exactly where the sword is and how to recover it. The only problem: An undead army, bolstered by powerful magic, lies between him and his destination. It will take every ounce of Simon's courage and intelligence to journey to and then recover the great sword, Memory, and bring peace to Osten Ard.

If Simon's quest is to have any hope, Josua must move against the Storm King himself - a journey that will take him across endless seas, through ancient forests and into the stronghold of the Storm King himself.

The finale to Tad Williams' breathtaking, beloved series Memory, Sorrow and Thorn.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, and I have since I read this series thirty years ago. A great set of believable characters in a brilliantly described world.

What other book might you compare To Green Angel Tower, Part 2 to, and why?

Tolkien and George RR Martin. This is a huge compliment and also a slight dig at the books. I really enjoyed these book but they are overlong and the grand finale could have had a better pay off in my opinion.

What does Andrew Wincott bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

A truly superb reading. Definitely up there with the Game of Thrones books and Ken Follett's Century cycle. These are epic books with huge casts and Mr Wincott makes each voice unique. I hope he won prizes for this narration, he deserved to!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I'm a 48 year old burly bruiser and I cried pretty much for the whole last hour. My gripes about the lack of a hugely exciting ending aside, I had invested over 120 listening hours to these books! I was embroiled in the lives of the characters. It was very cathartic!

    Any additional comments?

A great listen, like the latter Game of Thrones books, there is a little too much eye for the detail but that gripe aside, a great fantasy quartet for fans of the genre.

"Best young adult fantasy I have listened to"

I found this book so rewardig and enjoyable. The plot was quite forseable, however even with that it didnt spoil the wonder, hearthache and excitment. I am very happy to have finished this book, will get a paper versio too. Top 5 my favourite books.

    "Loved it"

I listened to all four books in days. Couldn't put them down. I originally kept to crime and thriller books when I first joined Audible but dipped into this medieval fantasy stuff when taking advantage of Audibles daily deals. I'm hooked I have been on some incredible journeys this series being one of them. I fully recommend.

    Story
"Worthy conclusion to a solid saga"
Would you listen to To Green Angel Tower, Part 2 again? Why?

On the whole, probably not. I enjoyed the whole saga, don't get me wrong, but i found it overlong and slightly bloated. which us why i gave it a 4 for story. Too much time spent listening to a characters internal monologue. A journey through a forest becomes several chapters detailing every movement, every stumble and every thought. In my view a slightly stronger steer with teh red pen in editing would have made this a far tighter series.

That said, I loved the twist at the end and loved the fact that Vorsheva was right about Joshua.

What did you like best about this story?

The plot twists at the end

Have you listened to any of Andrew Wincott’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Andrew Wincott's voice is perfect for this genre. It feels right.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Hope is all you have
