An ocean of darkness lives in the journal of Philip Pinkerton. Ancient things with no place in our world are rising from the abyss. Ezekiel, the arrogant, mad god has called us into battle. Does he think we can't touch him, or does he know we can't? I wish I knew. The world's only hope lies in a forgotten weapon, the strength of our allies, and one necromancer of questionable ancestry. Yeah, this is going to end well.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed this series!"
I never read the print version, but this is an entertaining audiobook.
I would call this very similar to the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. Both in humor and tone, if you like Dresden, you'll love Vesik.
William Dufris has proven to be a great narrator. He really makes many of the characters come alive. I can practically see Zola when he speaks for her. I will definitely look for more books he has narrated.
This book definitely made me laugh out loud many times.
Great book and a great narrator. Anymore, I stick to longer books, preferably boxed sets or omnibus editions, to get the best bang for my buck. I enjoyed the Vesik 1-3 set so much I bought 3 extra credits so I could get to this one.
"VESIK ADDICT - yes that is me!!!"
YES!!! I love the reader!! William Dufris bring Damiam to life!
in a way it reminds me of the Ilona Andrews series magic Bites. also may intricacies lots of great characters and awesome fight scenes
he brings each characters personality out more.
Bet you won't see that coming!!!
This book does a fantastic job in putting together a few of the strings that were left as teasers in books 1-3. Which I absolutely LOVED!!! it was like opening a bunch of gifts at Christmas when your theories were confirmed or there was a total plot twist you weren't expecting. The author, Eric Asher, does an incredible job of bringing it together seamlessly, and again one of my favorite things is that he does not repeat himself in hte sense of retelling you who all the players are. which by book 4 as a reader we are all engaged and know full well who the main and secondary characters are and how they have all become part of what I like to call "The Death's Door Gang"Now about the character development, I feel that Eric does a phenomenal job at growing the character form book to book making them more intricate and interesting. He slowly an seamlessly integrates parts of their past into the story line.Book 4 also leaves you hanging in anticipation of book 5. Makes you NEED to read to know what happens next.VESIK ADDICT - yes that is me!!!
After several books into the series I'm still hooked and looking forward to the next! It doesn't matter if a major plot line has been resolved or if it is just a side-story, the next one has already grabbed my interest. Fortunately, since there are still more books in the series I don't have to choose between finding out what's going to happen in the current story and what adventure is on the horizon!
"Im addicted, please keep writing more of these!!!"
the first book is still my favorite, but all of these stories are great!! I can't wait for another novel. this author and narrator are a fantastic team and I need more stories!!!
I completely obsessed with series. I own all the books as well as audiobooks. The stories could not be written any better. Eric has my vote for best author.
"Well, at least the title doesn't give it away..."
Again, William Dufris. Perfect narrator for this series. That bastard even made me tear up in a few parts, I mean, dust, bees, glass filings in my eyes, that's what it was, all of those at once. Also, I enjoy the character and story development that Eric puts in his stories.
Dresden Files, Iron Druid Chronicles and Alex Verus. As stated before in my previous reviews of this series, same genre, a modern day supernatural story.
Nope, no spoilers. Why would you even ask this Audible, why?I'll tell you this, the banter, even in dire situations, keeps it real. I haven't been in dire situations as Vesik (if any of you have, let me know because I want to know about the supernatural) but have been in highly stressful, disheartening, sad, etc situations that the wise crack lighten's the mood enough for people to cope. It's good. Much appreciated Eric.
Why hasn't the audio format for book 5 come out yet? What the heck William Dufris, read it on your own if you have to. Do a solid for Eric if it is your employer holding you back.
