When banished Princess Maia is captured by her father and threatened with execution, it appears that all is lost...until the people rise in rebellion against their king. Suddenly, the cast-aside royal finds herself crowned the first Queen of Comoros. But enemies appear on all sides as her father's conniving supporters assemble a new army against the fledgling ruler. While Maia struggles to keep the peace within her own walls, she rushes to form historical alliances with her neighboring kingdoms against an impending invasion of the ruthless Naestors - led by the cruel Corriveaux - who will destroy anyone Maia loves in order to ruin her kingdom and prevent the mastons from regaining power.
Realizing that Muirwood Abbey is once again her only hope for survival, Maia gathers her people there for protection. When she discovers an adversary greater than she's ever known, she must use all the magic, strength, and wisdom gained from her life's trials to prevent the Void that would bring destruction to herself, her true love, and the entire kingdom.

I read this series after finishing the first Muirwood series. I didn't think I would like it as much but just like the first one I couldn't put it down. I like the way he brought it all together in the end. a nice finish to the entire Muirwood series!
"Amazing book, sad it's over!"
I fell in love first with The Legends of Muirwood and this series was just as enchanting. Jeff Wheeler has created an irresistible world, and the narrator brought it to life! Excited to see what the new series has in store...
"Jeff Wheeler is a Master Storyteller!"
When I started the second series I wasn't sure I would like it as much as the first. But the more I read it the more I felt like I could feel and understand the Medium and Maia. It's amazing how a book can invoke feelings of good and goodwill toward others while bringing you through an amazingly well told story with excitement and satisfaction. I thoroughly enjoyed The second installment of Muirwood and highly recommend it to avid readers everywhere. You won't be disappointed!
"So, so bad."
Had any of the previous books been this bad, I'd never have made it this far. Each time I have attempted to expound upon the reasons why I found this so poor I have found myself unable to stop and unable to edit it into a manageable length, something the author and editor struggled with, as well. It is preachy, too long by half, and predictable.
Do not recommend.
I just love stories about lost cities and midevil lives. will read more from this author.
i love the narration and the story. it's been one of the best so far.
The main antagonist plot throughout the trilogy ends without confrontation. A crappy ending. This trilogy felt like it was written for teenage girls instead of adult fiction
loved every moment. felt inspired and captivated by the story. look forward to reading another of his books.
as always a wonderfully and well written sorry! I love this author and the world she created!
I Loved so much about this book, including and especially the history that inspired it and which is woven throughout its plot and characters, however the first Muirwood series will Ajay's be my favorites. =)
A friend recommended Jeff Wheeler's Muirwood books, and I'm so glad she did, what a rollercoaster of a story! I will be a little bit lost when I have heard everything available by him, meanwhile, I can start another trilogy by him and be lost in great story telling while I get on with mundane jobs. Hurray for audiobooks :D
"Heart in your mouth stuff!"
What an amazing conclusion to an amazing trilogy. Trips and trails, gripping and heart rending. Characters so real and familiar you feel related to them! Great penmanship. Thank you.
Really loved how the series ended especially the reference to "poison well"
I really hope for another trilogy
