Lost meets The Passage in this incredible new thriller, for all fans of The Shining Girls and Stephen King.
They're here... The boy. The boy watch the boy watch the dead people oh Lordy there's so many... They're coming for me now. We're all going soon. All of us. Pastor Len warn them that the boy he's not to. The last words of Pamela May Donald (1961 - 2012)
Black Thursday. The day that will never be forgotten. The day that four passenger planes crash, at almost exactly the same moment, at four different points around the globe.
There are only four survivors. Three are children, who emerge from the wreckage seemingly unhurt. But they are not unchanged. And the fourth is Pamela May Donald, who lives just long enough to record a voice message on her phone. A message that will change the world. The message is a warning.

Loved this. Was really good. Loved how the book was read by 2 people too.
If you like spooky novels with the whole "what's the truth" running through your mind the whole time (until the end when you find it out) then this is definitely for you
"Like watching a train wreck"
A wonderful if not flawed commentary on modern society's penchant for drama, melodrama and hysteria. From the word "go" you know this isn't going to work out well for "The Three" or anyone connected with them. Sarah does a wonderful job of capturing each character's flaws while still making them appealing.
"It's like a car crash.. I couldn't stop listening!"
Where to start..?
1. The narrators were great, in fact they were brilliant!
2. The first chapter was great - sounded like it had a lot of promise.
3. The storyline got boring, very disappointing.
4. The ending, equally as disappointing if not more.
All in all, I am indifferent to the story and it might be because prior to listening to this book I was listening to the The King Killer Chronicles which is an awesome set of books. I might be a little biased sorry.
They were brilliant. Loved all the acting, cries, sobs etc.
"Excellent performance shame about the story"
The performances by the two actors memorable in their variety The general story and the way the story was told was very disappointing.
The starting premise of the book was good and I would happily listen to another book that started from the same point. But please don't take me to the same end point again.
I loved their characters
I was completely uninspired by the story. However, I never give up on a talking book and got to the end.
"Terrible book, nothing like the hype."
I've enjoyed many audio books and written books, I quite like Stephen King when it comes to horror or Justin Cronin.
At first I didn't like the ladies voice but I realised that was just one of the characters she was vocalising. :o)
The delivery of the book was very good it's just the book had no substance.
I really wanted to like this book but it was terrible from start to finish. A little like world war z in the way it's delivered but it was terrible in comparison. I couldn't wait for it to finish.
"Interesting but not outstanding"
This is a bit of a weird book. Written in a documentary-like style it is engaging, but far from fascinating.Unlike Swan Song and similar books this is less of end-of-word scenario but and more of a good vs evil story. And, just as in real life, it is very difficult to tell who is good and who is evil.Worth buying, kept me listening but did not leave me wanting for more.
No. I think it would be a better read than listen, in the same way that some plays should not be staged. The repetition of Twitter etc. streams was stomach churning. The readers are both talented and managed several accents with varying degrees of satisfaction. The South African accents in particular were way off the mark and I would suggest either not doing an accent at all or pay another reader who is comfortable with these accents.
This is an author to watch and I would definitely want to read more of her work. A well-researched book and interesting story line.
the only way to make it better would be to have it rewritten.
Not a god damn chance.
Yes, but so what, the story was awful.
hmmm. tricky, I mean they're all worthy of being cut but which one to choose? in fact I don't know. I've forgotten all their names.
14 hours of rambling nonsense, it was awful and I mean truly awful, it was dull, it was too long, the story wasn't engaging, oh and did I mention it was too long? ITS TOO LONG. there's about 8 hrs of story here stretched out into 14, why?
"waste of time"
Lured in by comparisons to stephen king which after listening to book I can't understand. Narrator's do a good job but main problem is that the story constantly jumps around and for a large part of the book NOTHING happens. Will be returning this one.
"Wish that I had seen the previous reviews"
Good narration of an overblown idea set out in a very disjointed manner - Avoid!
"No idea what this book was about!"
I listened to all of it.
Not written it.
Start at page one and cut the whole book.
I kept listening hoping something would happen........but it didn't. It was billed as "The world will never be the same again". Hinting that a malevolent force was behind the crashes.......if there was it never made an appearance.
Don't bother with this book.
"what is this?"
The book has a very promising premise. It starts intriguing and you really want to find out how the mystery unveils. But is doesn't. Halfway the writer kind of got adrift and the story loses any direction, it just lingers on and on, until the main character just walks away in the end. Something I should have done much earlier myself.
