Engaging characters

The story was a bit convoluted but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

It's a reread for me and the things I liked and disliked have changed. I like the characters in this series which made it interesting to follow them around.

Definitely worth a read if you like new worlds, magical animals, magic portals, big bad evil and morally grey characters.
