Loved it - great intro to the WoT world
Really easy listen and quickly moving plot with intriguing antagonists. Enough twists you can't guess everything straight away. No background knowledge of the Wheel of Time series needed, and in fact, this is a good introduction to that world.

How it all began
I love prologues when written well because they let you see a the story that is to come (or that has already been written) much more clearly, and this is one of the best I have ever come across. I wish it could have been a little longer, to tell more of Moiraine and Lan's beginning adventures that we only ever get fragments of hints of in the main work, but perhaps there was not time. If you haven't read any of the Wheel of Time books yet, this is a good place to start to get a sense of them without going too heavy in, and for the rest of us, it is a find sauce or gravy adding to a complex universe we enjoy greatly.

Fantastic
A fabulous prelude to the wheel of time books. Having read all books in hard back beginning many years ago and being a lover of these precious tellings I am very much looking forward to listening to all books again. If you enjoy fantasy told in the marvellous way Tolkien told Lord of the Rings, you will most definitely love these books too. Marvellous tales told with magnificent writing. Well deserving of the highest praise.

Great addition or starting point
Not only does this provide some insight into two of the main characters backstory it also works as a good jumping on place for those curious to get an idea of the Wheel of Time series almost in its own contained book.

This was a wonderful glimpse into Moraine & Lan's early days, my only critique is that it finished and left me wanting more! This could easily be extended into it's own prequel series.

An excellent beginning to the Wheel of Time series
Great for both those new to the Wheel of Time series or an old reader returning…
If you are new to these books or have just finished the TV series and wondering where to start, this is a very good place.
Having started reading the Wheel Time books many years ago and now coming back again, this answered many unanswered questions that had always lingered in my mind…
Also at the end of the narrative, it was a lovey surprise to hear from the author himself, Robert Jordan, a true Master of Fantasy.
