Between the fall of man and the arrival of the JFK, the Horn of Africa is a battleground.
Salvation. Vengeance. Vanity.
Nemesis can be listened to as a standalone novel, as an intro to the series, or at any point alongside the main series.

I love R.C. Bray's narration and the story line is fast and engaging.
I really loved and enjoyed all of the characters. They were all well rounded and engaging.
When you think it can' get any worse...think again.
I'm never sure about stand alone books, I've seem some work and others not so much. I was worried and hesitated to download this book because I love the series so much and thought it wouldn't be the same without the characters I'd come to love and know. Well knock me down with a feather it was fantastic. I should of trusted the author and narrator more.
It was a great listen all round.
OMG RCBray just goes from great to fantastic in this stand alone release - his descriptions of the equipment and action are amazing and correct
The pace of the story is just insanely fast and brilliant. Not to be missed by anyone who is a fan of the Arisen epic. Thank you RCB.
in true arisen form this book delivers using the proven formula of character establishment, epic battle and unexpected ending. it also sets up nicley for book 9
RC Bray is exceptional as always.
worth a listen.
"Amazing as always"
Can't wait for book 9. It can't get here faster.
And as always thank you RC. You make this story even more amazing.
"I have to give it to the author"
This guy is one of the masters of the Zombie genre. I love this series. I love the technical details of the operators. The statements they make in the heat of battle, as well as in the midst of the suck, strike such a familiar military tone. Super suspenseful and always filled with characters you hope will live the turn another page...
"very good story telling. love the story."
I loved the story war with Al-Qaeda during a zombie apocalypse. very credible story about the Triple Nickel and detailed characters. very good read.
says it's 8.5 a stand alone book of the series but it's part of the series with a great back story
"Best one yet"
Best book in the series, I was worried when I saw It was listed as a prequel. I shouldn't have doubted.
"Favorite since the first!"
Introducing 555 breathed so new life into this amazing series. I loved this book, and RC BRAY killed it again. Good thing we don't have to wait long for the next installment as this series is a ton of fun!
Monster of a book! Almost full throttle from end to end! Great intro to the story if you just started.
"I hate Zombie stories! I LOVE these Authors!"
When I first started the series I was thinking what the heck all I do is listen to space operas and James Patterson books. Then I got into this book the sheer military prowess captivated me not only was it realistic science fiction. It was downright hard-core military. These authors got military doctrine down. They even didn't screw up the Navy doctrine. Everything was precise down to the letter. This prequel is no different I cannot wait for them to finish the story however but I appreciate this prequel perfect perfect perfect. I recommend anybody who loves sheer military doctrine along with a good solid storyline to do this series. You will not put it down, you will not stop listening to it. All you will be able to do is bite your nails and wait for the next book to come out because this is the most exciting storyline I have ever listen to in the last three years. Thank you Mr. Fuchs and thank you for all that you do for us military guys! PHOORAH!

"arisen is back"
this was a great book. 13 hours of action. this was Def worth the credit. and how it ends meeting up with where book 8 ended. can't wait to see triple nickel and alpha meet up.
"Best duo ever"
Michael Fuchs can write one hell of a story but R.C.Bray brings it to life. I buy books mainly based on narrator, but these story do carry themselves very well. The character development is fantastic and you never know who's going to die. Even if you don't like Zombie story's, by this series.
"Does My Badass Look Big In This?"
Fast, intense and explosive on a grand scale. Quite how Michael Stephen Fuchs does it I am really not too sure. I’m just glad that he does. Few other authors manage to keep up such a high action to content ratio and keep you hooked on how his various super-strong operators manage to push through impossible situations one after the other. For sustained excitement and tension I am not sure I have found a series that beats this one.
The narration? R.C. Bray doing the Arisen series. This narrator, within this genre, is about as good as it gets.
So when should you read this one? The publisher says “any time” and you definitely could if you wanted to. However, while it’s described as a prequel it’s a story that runs alongside the main series. There are a few spoilers (though not much to those familiar with the genre) and so I’d say that as things stand in published audiobooks there is an “ideal” reading order if I’m being picky.
You definitely should go for book 0.5 Genesis before this one but that can come before or at any time during the main series. I would read the main series up to Book 8, Empire of the Dead also before this one. It should fall together nicely this way. That’s being picky but I think it would work best that way as some of the ways the zombies and their behaviour evolve throughout the main series is summarised in this one and the two stories do point towards each other at the very end.
Whatever way you do it, if you like one you’ll like the rest. Excepting a possible slight slump in book 7 this has been an incredibly fast-paced, intense and enjoyable series and I see no reason why it couldn’t continue to be so.
"action packed throughout"
loved this can't wait for the next instalment. cleverly tied into the previous story .
Just brilliant. I had to take 2 days annual leave because there was no way I could stop listening to it. It's got all the energy of the Arisen series and if you've listened to any of the other books, very relatable characters.
Yet another hi octane, action packed, fast paced story from the Arisen series. Absolutely brilliant.
As with the previous books, this was excellent. I loved how we were able to meet some new characters and see how their story fits into the big picture. It's a shame some of my favorite characters had to die though :-( Keep up the excellent work and as always R.C Bray was epic.
"Special Forces take on Zombies"
Special forces battling it out with ISIS and zombies. what more do you need. superb
"Love the world setting for this series"
I have really enjoyed this series and look forward to further audiobooks to catch up to the written word
Strikes a great balance between technical information and storytelling that I just loved
Would highly recommend it to anyone who likes a apocalypse survival storyline
Absolutely brilliant series, with R. C Bray brining to whole story to life.
I have listened to every book so far and found I am completely engrossed with every step the story takes.
"I never got bord of theas books just fantastic"
every time thay bring a new book out its mind blowing and this one was no exception love the book the the characters defo recommend this .
"It's just not another zombie series...."
I've listened to all of the Arisen series so far including Flood and can't get enough of it.
if you like zombies, action, zombies, fast pace, zombies, survival, zombies, fantastic story lines, zombies, too narration, zombies, occasional comedy, zombies, drama, zombies... you get the picture.
Great story line and definitely a candidate for a tv series. These audio books will hook you in and you'll be addicted. Not as much comedy as the Mountain Man books, but simply oustanding work.
Great character development and several stories intertwining with one another without loss of cohesion.
If you've not yet listened to any of the series I envy you as your in for a roĺler coaster of all out military mayhem zombie devastation... woohoo
yes I rather like these books :)
